afaik there is 0 point in giving it any pen over ~~600 as nothing that i know of has armour that high. 1k pen just means it always pens and covers feature wunder waffles.
onto the idea as a whole.
i support the idea of making railway a single, more powerful shot both for realism and to distinguish it from all the other things in the game that use the same shell. with that said, the stats you posted would make it OP bullshit. it wouldn't quite have the issues that air supremacy have because none of the allied teams tech outside the base sector.
i'm also ok with the current railway global because it looks cool, it's relatively cheap (it's ~~50mun less than similar strikes without doing a whole lot less damage) and it has a REALLY short cooldown. it does have several strong draw backs though as it's not cheap enough to spam if you spent munitions on anything else, it has a long calldown time, a lot of scatter and the last two shells, and it'll only kill a medium tank on a direct hit.
Describing it as "OP" would really only be relevant if facing against a sim city, which in my opinion should be frowned upon. Also, it's 2k penetrations because I like the sound of having double the maximum.
Release the win/loss records of 1v1 since last patch for the ost. Since you broke the AEC and it basically has ruined ost in 1v1 vs brits. Show me that this is wrong and release the ost win/loss records. T
you guys know you screwed up the AEC so bad you posted on your twitter the 1 time a ost player got lucky and RNG killed them with vet 2 mg.
I would be very surprised to see ost with win record over 30%- Allie fan boys how happy are you when you load into 1v1 and get ost?
Stationary support weapons are kinda underused. Not only are they easily countered by off-map strikes and - if that wasn't enough - pretty expensive in terms of MP, the commanders aren't that great either.
So, how could relic improve their viability without actually buffing them?
Here's my idea:
Once you reach the needed CPs, your Pios/Engineers can build them WITHOUT crew for the MP cost of only the actual gun. That would be 360MP for one LeFH, for example.
The crew needs to be built at the HQ FIRST for the rest of the MP cost - 240MP in case of the ML-20/leFH. You can only have as many PAK43s/LeFHs/ML-20s as you have crews.
The crew can then operate the gun OR abandon it whenever you want (in case of an arty strike for example). The mechanic already exists ( see USF). You can't just re-crew them with, for example, Grens to abandon them again to get a free Gren squad. Only the buildable crew can re-crew those guns.
Stationary weapons could still be destroyed by Stuka Dive Bombs or Il-2 bombing runs instantly BUT (in case you saved the crew) your next howitzer will cost way less than they do ATM. And you keep the veterancy.
Wunderwaffe - is just what makes game balance terrible. There was enough brainless comeback moves such as struggling until IS-2/KT/JT/ISU. That could be just another one. Do we really need it?
Stall for 400 munis -> win every game with annihilation victory after 12 CPs by firing it into the mainbase
On a more serious note: nah, it could use some changes but realistically you can never float 400 munitions unless you have your opponent already pinned in his base.
