Med base is definitely a good base for infantry pressure as you can place the headquarters forward and resupply.
It is definitely true that Mechanized is used most often due to the fact it is more adaptable and has somewhat stronger alternatives.
Infrared Halt-track is undoubtedly good in team games such as 3v3 and 4v4 but I do not think that reason should be convenient enough just to have that unit in Medbase. Maybe I was thinking like a tech choice similarly to what the Brits have.
Either choose an Inftrared Haltrack or another suggested unit.
Maybe just simply add another different unit in the Med base.
Currently as it stands, 1v1 in my experiences is pretty bad. Going Flak Half Track is unadaptable in many situations especially urban areas and it is vulnerable. Luchs in contrast is more consistent, adaptable and has more health. More incentive to use Luchs.
The LEIG mortar is quite lackluster although it has the range but it means nothing. It is AOE being the worst in comparison to every other faction mortars meaning a less overall damage. The only reason for this mortar is just using the smoke. It would be quite nice to add another ability so that there would be more reason to use it. HE shells for increased AOE or Incendiary rounds. It should get another ability.
Infrared Halt Track in 1v1. Who uses it?
Med Base needs some kind of revamp. Currently 1v1 is most often the worst choice. While Mechanized which has provided me with more results has always been the only best alternative in OKW terms of battle tech choices. I feel that is the only route in order to properly win as OKW.
Well, there was Widersteit's AT mode for the LeIG. Aa far as the IR HT goes tho I really like the idea of replacing it with an upgradable 250 HT. |
We should ALL know by now that graphics in 2019 does not make the game. I hope the game play is very fluid and OPTIMIZED before I buy (looking at you World War 3).
Agreed, I had that mindset before as well when I played Battlefield 1942, it's dated 2002 graphics didn't bother me one bit as long as it's experience and gameplay was good. |
red orchestra is better
Red Orchestra started out as a niche and indie title but I'd say has reached triple A polish state, this is something like it on steroids and is an indie title so they'll hopefully work out the kinks, still tho it promises to be much bigger and deeper than RO. Only time will truly tell. |
Is it a typo or is there literally an IS-3 coming for the game?
It's not a typo, pictures on their kick-starter page depict IS3 models. I guess they either got confused, mistaken or just fanboyed out over the commies. |
Tiger is 100000% coming as stretch goal, everyone will want it. I would even go as far as saying I'm pretty sure that Tiger stretch goal was planned since the beginning. Not revealing every stretch goal gives them some room to maneuver and see how much more people they can bring in to pledge.
Yeah, I'd definitely get a pack with just the German heavies even if I don't plan on actually playing the boardgame, the models look really nice at least from the pictures.
I also found a Tiger and King Tiger model kits in Lego by some Polish dudes for 40 Euro which I'm guessing is around 60 USD or something, debating whether or not to get that as well lol. |
Well, not yet. With the overwelming success of these early sales I wouldn't be surprised if they were putting together another expension commanders pack asap with the fan favorites Tiger/Sturmtiger/Jagdtiger/IS-2/Churchill Funnies.
I guess that makes sense.
It's also really weird for me that they're using CoH Artwork for the cover, but CoH2 Artwork for everything else, but I guess it again makes sense since the Soviets are there while they're not in the original CoH. I guess it's just strange to see a mash up of both artworks since they're vastly different in my opinion.

They actually do have mobile one in CoH1, its a doctrinal, but its there.
Now, if the last 5-7 years has taught me anything, its that the best way to engage with a crowd founder game is to just wait for its actual release, even if it means paying more, at least you won't be stuck in a limbo of never released game. PC, board or otherwise.
You do have a point with that and they'll have a doctrinal mobile mortar here after the new commander update hits but I meant non-doctrinal, it doesn't seem to me like the support weapons being doctrinal specific in this boardgame.
I'd still get the elite commanders thing for 15 bucks just for the King Tiger models tho, wish I could also get the Elefant. Sad they don't have Tigers and Jagdtigers.
I used to play a lot with those little plastic Army Men soldiers when I was little so it's like a blast from the past for me. |
What's ironic is that even the British have a mobile mortar team and not in both of the video games lol. |
Axis factions dont get weapons racks, yet that doesn't make them op. Please use some logic instead of plain accusations or opinions.
I agree making IRHT a doc umit for spec-ops and use that unit slot for another unit is the right way. Maybe the 251 with a light AT gun could be used instead, with a performance sub-par of an AEC
Sadly that's impossible model wise right now until Relic renables model editing and importing, other way of doing it is through Widersteit's method which is a huge workaround and means that the vehicle needs to stop and deploy sorta like the flak HT where the new weapon magically spawns out of nowhere. |
I support this idea but, I'd prefer to see the mortar come as an upgrade rather than as the default variant. OKW needs a transport unit.
I don't support the medic upgrade - OKW already has sufficient healing options.
Agreed. |
