Most artillery barrages do a pretty significant amount of damage to any of the OKW trucks, so following it up with, or along with, an armored push or ATG creep usually does the trick nicely. Plus the Arti usually clears away most of the defending units for that assault. It'c counterable, sure (even without arty in some cases). But to force your opponent to tech arty to counter a gun slapped on a tech building, which isn't even needed anymore, is weird. In: COH2 Balance

And players generally don't attack with the back of their Panthers towards the front-lines, nor do they leave the back of their tank towards the AT. The rear half of the tank counts as rear armor though, so you'll have a fair chance to hit it when shooting at the side of a tank. In: COH2 Gameplay

It's probably getting a side upgrade cost, which would justify the AA imo. Doesn't the base AA have 0.5% chance/shot to down a plane? Or has it been completely removed? In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Should Relic take a look at artillery next patch?21 Jan 2016, 00:03 AM Calliope needs to come down to katy lvl in terms of lethality. The high price will then be for its survivability. Pwerfer needs to come down to katy lvl in terms of lethality. Ost tier 4 pricing still needs to be looked at, stupidly high tech cost is no excuse for an overperforming unit (especially in 2v2 and up). Stuka and katy is fine. Situational units, as they should be. Static artillery pieces should only be decrewed by offmap artillery (e.g. stuka dive bomb, IL2 50kg) while retaining a little health on the piece. Minimal amount of effort to completely destroy it is at least better than it is now. I believe B-4 will always be either under- or overperforming, too much punch in that unit. I don't like it at all. UKF needs to get some offmaps tweaked (nerfed..) while sexton needs a serious buff. Base artillery...meh, I don't get that design at all. I have no opinions when it comes to USF artillery except calliope. IMO In: COH2 Gameplay

It's too devastating. Game changing shit is fine if it actually takes more than a unit or a click to make it happen. But I'll leave it at that. I can't even remember the last time I lost a katy to the ATS. Recon gives an early warning, but it's probably mostly because a decrease in use of CAS and me rarely getting katy nowadays. I was mainly pointing out that it's not only axis heroes that votes yes in the poll (I'm playing mostly soviets, and some OKW). But sure, I can give you my arguments for voting yes. It can be dodged yes (as can the axis anti tank strafe). The problem is when it's used at the right opportunity (assaulting a defended okw flak truck for example). If used right you will at least win an assault. If it hits, it's simply too devestating against all targets. In 2vs2 (which is what the thread is actually about) it's really easy to pinch the opponents, preventing or punishing any escape, and when used it mostly means gg when I play with my brit friend. Brits are lacking severly in many areas, especially in indirect fire, and needs some rework/buffs (especially sexton, come on..). But this ability should be toned down. I dislike too powerful units/abilites in general as they quickly create balance issues, even if it's outside their intended use. In: COH2 Balance
