Simple, either give them MP40's so only good at near range or give them a weaker version of STG44 to reflect their state of being really young/old and untrained. It worked perfectly on vCOH, the Volks could get MP40's but that was coupled with biggest moving accuracy penalty in game plus only good at short range so it wasn't at all OP but a situational upgrade. Never saw it spammed to good effect.
The mp40 in vcoh was never used until it got a rather substantial buff to the medium range firepower . after that every single volks was upgraded. I rather see an lmg42 upgrade then mp44 or mp40's.
But the sad fact is you cannot use sp's on most maps effectively. vg's do not scale and obers come out to late. either volks get an exclusive AI upgrade that prvents them from getting shreks or obers should be moved to medic truck.
Buying vg's is in the long run the same as buying at guns. and sometime you dont need at but more AI. |

While Axis was MUCH IN FAVOR in team games and Allies had the huge disadvantage and we still won.

Do you know if they gave STGs or LMG 34s to volks, how fucked team games would be?
They are already mostly in Axis favor.
Team games currently are fucked up in favour for the allies. stats show axis losing in every gamemode. gratz on your 102 winstreak yeah axis are really dominating team games lol . For the okw the problem is that cannot win their infantry battles. allied infantry scale way better and faster then even the elite obers and fsj's. |
Unit is fine, battlephase is fine too, the building itself is grossly overpriced.
A Panther supported by double pak 40 will destroy any allied armor. You just need to be smart with your Panther, Ostheer equipment must be used with great care. This was the way Ostheer was supposed to be played before doctrine dlc ruined that aspect.
As I said, units are fine, battlephase is fine, yet building itself is grossly overpriced. Perhaps this is also a reason why they might seem underperforming, because by the time your Panther arrives, you are fighting a multitude of allied vehicles which already vetted up.

The panther may once have been the king of the AT tanks but those glory days are longer over. if the panther and stug where swapped i would gladly tech to tier 4 to get the stugs. These days medium tank destroyers have so much penetration they can easily kill it. increasing its dps is not bad idea.
As for the brumbar increase the fuel to 185 and its range yo 70 making it a mini 152. for AI purposes the ostwind is simply better. |

No not really. they may be 24 % cheaper then the grenadier but the gren does around 40 % more damage at close range and around 35% at long range. it doesnt take a maths genius to see that the grenadier gives much more bang for buck.
Then take into account of fausts and the lmg upgrade and significantly superior vet 2 and 3 and grens are miles ahead of volks. |
It has no role because meta isn't M3/M20/Dodge/UC spam/rush anymore. Its sole purpose is to counter light vehicle start and to give vision with its vet. Axis players want to buff it by lazyness, having a unit that counter early inf + early vehicles for a really small price because they don't micro their squads.
Ironically, the free upgrade killed even more the meta it belong to since nobody is going to spend fuel on a M3/M20/Dodge to be automatically counter by a brainless 221 coming 3 minutes later.
You want an early AI vehicle, build a 251 + flammer upgrade, or whine better/stronger/harder to have the upgrade for free like you did with the 221.

+1. Volks are very good for how cheap they are, idk why people insist they must perform at rifle/gren level.
For AI OKW have 2 other types of non-doc infantry. USF got rifles and REs, that's it.
Despite being 5 mp cheaper they do not perform at all like grens or conscripts. poor vet and virtually no special abilities like fausts or at nades. |
We'd see the old Volks blobs once again if this was available to Volks, and I hope we are are over those days now. My main problem is it still doesn't solve the near useless nature of Volksgrenadiers vs infantry unless you want to spend all your munitions, so I tend to go Special Operations nowadays because I can at least have useful infantry that have cheap grenades, otherwise you rely entirely on that incendiary grenade.
