If anything, they need a slight nerf. When I mean nerf, I mean their rear armour.
It's so frustrating to watch flanking mediums ping off because heavy tanks have more rear armour than a medium tank's front.

And i repeat, they don't need any buffs, only changes bordering sidegrades so that maxim is less prevalent. They are sitting at the top of the food chain along with OKW right now. You wouldn't buff OKW, why would you buff SU ?
Ok then, you support moving Maxim power elsewhere, like to Penals, good, good.
But I'm watching you.
That was a joke, I'm not trying to be confrontational. |
Soviet don't need to be fixed, seriously. Maybe some changes so that maxim is less important, but no buffs.
Penals in their current state are simply insufficient for Soviet's infantry needs. |

Well goddamn, I'm qualified as hell for game balance then! |
in fact, i have no idea how to counter a well micro-ed sniper that is always constantly cover by mg42s, grens and the like.
smoke and flank maybe.

wuuuuuuuuttttttttt
I swear that was changed like 5 months after vCoH2 release
Regardless I think I lack any sort of confidence for a further discussion on the matter. |
They're more or less fine. I could argue small changes, but significant armor and HP buffs are not those. |
He meant the blast AoE, not projectile scatter and accuracy.
Hm, think those happened twice, right? But the only problem I recall was from mines having brokenly-high AoE for a while, certainly wasn't the root of the current issue. |
I'd rather see improvements to squad spacing while moving and in cover as well as adjustments to explosion profiles than kludges like these.
Ya huh. Better than squads at 50% health for each man dicking around an ISU-152 and not getting what they deserve for some reason. Plus it's still dumb when a PF/Script squad at 5/6 men stand in a bush and a single medium tank shell kills them all too. |
IIRC, a change was made last year to how explosive damage was dealt. Instead of doing an accuracy roll, the explosive damage was made to automatically hit, which makes judging and managing units dealing this damage easier.
Unfortunately, a big part of 'elite' infantry is their received accuracy modifier (implemented through target size), which makes them much harder to hit, and I believe this received accuracy modifier (target size) also applied to explosive damage prior to the change. After the change to explosive damage, now that there is no accuracy roll as the damage is always applied, 'elite' infantry are as vulnerable as regulars to explosive damage, although to small arms they retain their received accuracy (target size) advantages.
No, pretty much any main weapons with AoE still uses scatter to determine where the shot lands and how it damages whatever it hits. They don't automatically hit, it's RNG. No change such as that ever happened. |
