Relic has long since removed any distinction between the factions, best to just skip the foreplay and just make 5 mirror copies where the only difference is artwork.
Even the maps have suffered, playing on a winter version of a map used to mean something, in that you could freeze and had to plan around it and blizzards. Now the only difference is visual, very boring. |
I don't understand why they don't eliminate all the interesting differences between the factions and just make 4 copies of the same bland army where the only differences are the available camo bulletins.
Clearly that is the direction they are taking the game and they should just dispense with the foreplay and go all the way. That way I can move on to other games, this one has been going downhill ever since the OKW 'normalization' changes started last year. |
OKW is totally dead in both 2v2 and 3v3.
Their infantry sucks, their tanks are too expensive, no AT, MG sucks, Kubel nerfed, infantry gun nerfed. Maybe you can choose Defensive commander for Pak43, but thats it.
Allied AT guns and MGs simply shut OKW down
The only thing they got is the early Flak Track, it can set up fast, but its damage was reduced, so its a wash. Most of the time I find myself wishing I had the damage back, I can position it fine.
All I can say is, don't play OKW right now. Every game I lose as Ost is because of a OKW partner that cannot pull his weight.

Anyone who builds more than 2 newbvolks is easy to beat, its someone who knows how to mix it up early that is a problem.
As USF just go for 3 Rifleman and Double BARs, followed by the Leuy with a BAR and the AA Halftrack. If you get a 50 Cal and put it in a building or other static position you are doing it wrong. Your 50 Cal follows the Riflemen around and engages the enemy with attack move just as if it was a Rifleman itself. |
Simply not playing Wehr this patch. I moved over to US for double BAR love, 4 wins in a row so easy when all you are facing are volksnewbs and grens. |
I've just lost 7 games in a row as Ost, and can say that this patch is the worst patch I've ever seen for this game for Wehr.
Where to begin?
Scout Car: Too expensive and changes to its speed and maneuver make it useless for hunting soviet snipers, leaving Wehr defenseless against them.
Vehicles: Too slow to come out, leaving the Wehr player to rely on infantry for too long. Unfortunately Grens are the worst starting infantry, being expensive and too few in number.
MG42: Been useless against anyone but newbs for ages, so easily outflanked its ridiculous.
Mortar: Constantly overrun by hordes of soviet infantry.
Vehicles: What vehicles? your lucky if you get to play with one.
PGs: Lets nerf the shrecks some more so you have to rely on your non-existant vehicles to help you.
Might as well remove all bulletins in game except for Gren bulletins, you basically won't get to use any of them. While your at it, remove all the units except for basic infantry also, because that is what the game is about now, how many basic infantry you build, rather than the rock-paper-scissors MG/Mortar/Inf of the old CoH. Positioning is worthless against the horde. |
I've experimented a lot with bulletins, they do have a minor effect on the game and some are better than others. They will not win you games though.
Ones I regularly use depending on my commanders:
Accuracy bulletins for infantry are very good:
+3% Accuracy Grens
+3% Accuracy PGs
+5% Accuracy Mortar
+3% Accuracy MG42
Range bulletins for Artillery
+5% Range for Werfer
Reload for Tanks and AT
+5% Reload for P4
+4% Reload for Pak40
The +10% reload for MG42 deserves a special mention, it effects set up time, building repositioning, and how fast incendiary rounds start. If you use your MG42s in a mobile, offensive capacity, accompanying your infantry then take it.
Lately I've been using the Tiger Ace +10% vision bulletin, I just love it. But of course you are locking yourself in to a particular commander.
The +3% Movement, +2% Accuracy bulletin for Stormtroopers will stack with the +3% Accuracy for PGs, for +5% Accuracy and +3% Movement on Storms, I use these two with the Tiger Ace bulletin quite often recently with Elite Troops.
The +5% Reload for P4/T34 is the best bulletin in the game, IMHO. I would take it instead of the Tiger Ace vision for more flexibility in choosing commanders. When I play soviet it has a hallowed place in any loadout.
The 5% Mortar accuracy bulletin is incredible, the 5% reduction is on the scatter radius, which means the total area in which a shell lands is reduced as a quadratic function of the radius, which is a lot. This is also why the Werfer range bulletin is so good, as the hit radius is reduced in size for the same range shot.
I do not like extra Armour or Penetration, reduced cost, or reduced build. Extra XP can be good, but I have no problem vetting my units, so I only take that for the King Tiger when playing OKW.

I switched to play Americans for a change and racked up 8 or 9 victories in a row. In my last game I got 2000 bonus points, for a total of 4000 points towards my next supply crate, but my supply has been reset to 0!!!!
I had 70,000 supply, from all the duplicates I traded in, and now I have 0!!! Guess I should have spent it while I had it because this game is just TOO BUGGY! |
Its certainly an issue. Losing 400MP squads to a single shell is annoying as hell. No wonder people rather stick with cheaper infantries.
I think in case of some smaller sized infantries it would be wise to revert AOE change to roll against accuracy for each model.
Or calculate dynamical AOE with squad size included. Like this:
( Current AOE size / 5 ) * target squad size
The main advantage of my suggestion is that received accuracy/target size is mostly a modest modifier. Where before a squad might be wiped, now several formerly full health members might be left with naught but a sliver, allowing a short-lived opportunity to retreat.

I find most AOE units like brumm, PIV, sherman, dozer and even the ostwind useless.
Remarkable, as I believe the PIV, Sherman, and Ostwind are some of the better vehicles available to their respective factions for the cost. Especially if you have the rare reload bulletin for the medium tanks, which I believe is among the best bulletins in the game.
The Brummbar and Sherman Bulldozer are more situational, but I do love using the Brummbar when warranted, its quite enjoyable.
