If the grenade land behind the sandbag and in the middle of your squad it's going to hurt. Funny story, the hitbox on the things are bit weird so the grenade landing in the middle of the squad where the green cover dots are will cause it to do half damage and cause no losses on its own. Now if the grenades lands just a bit behind those dots, it'll count as not being in the direction of the cover and probably get a model kill or two more to the soldiers closer to it (but the other guys will probably take less damage from the grenade being farther from them). I haven't even played through the Enemy Within yet but I'll probably give it a go after that. Well, rookie-fights aren't overwhelming, they just actually have options in LW. Grenades are definitely a lot tougher to get used though. If you're interested, I'd say to start like me by reading through its wiki heavily first. But yes, the game certainly emphasizes the "war" part - one where things are too big to put a face on everything. I got through the first two missions without losses, but then they started to pile on after... In: Other Games

And, of course, caches having far more potential (+3 fuel for one player < +3 fuel for four players) with far less cost opportunity (In a strictly theoretical manner: 200 MP cost for one cache in 1v1 from a player that has 200 MP takes away their side's entire pool of 200 MP. 200 MP cost for one cache in 4v4 from a team that has 200 MP each takes away 25% from their side's entire pool of 800 MP). A single mortar and panzerschreck forces USA Forward retreat point away. Bigger problem is OKW Battlegroupm Schwere Panzer HQ, (and maybe even pak43) combo, which can be hard to force away. Flak gun from Schwere should be removed. Well, the Ambulance can still be pretty hard to get to/find in larger games (where the forward retreat point problem is at its worst due to the larger maps) with more players around it. Makes forcing in to it tougher. Of course, that makes the OKW's version of it even worse by comparison, but still - a bigger problem doesn't make a smaller problem not a problem. In: COH2 Gameplay
