Idk those things don't fit the U.S. theme of mobility and versatility though.
Actually, I think old mines would fit Muricans perfectly - they'd work against everything, but they wouldn't do much damage and thus force their player to take advantage of the mobility loss they cause to the enemy and reposition themselves to make the mines truly effective. |
Oh wow, so '50 is basically broken?
Yeah, that's all...holy shit. |
]Making factions stronger at different phases of the game means automatic balance scaling issues. It guarantees that whomever has the best "late game" faction is more and more powerful in larger game modes where the probability of the match reaching late game approaches 100%. Thus, you can never have a game where the 1v1 and 4v4 are both balanced. To a smaller extent even 2v2s become skewed by this effect, a mode which is still highly competitive. If you balance for 1v1, then 3v3 and 4v4 become the late game faction's bitch. If you balance for larger games, then the early game factions will be OP in 1v1s. Balancing around resource shortages for OKW also has the same problem when combined with OH teammates and cache resource sharing.
Well, it's arguably not an balance issue if nigh-perfect players regard the timing distinctions as fine and workable on all sides.
This doesn't mean literally everyone else will find it fun, though. Which is probably a thing that's a lot more important to most players. |
You can make MG's gain vet from suppressing units instead of damage.
Could also just reduce its vet requirements a ton, but I'd admit I've long wanted all HMGs to be balanced around doing that as well. They're the only heavy weapon team with a secondary purpose that fulfilling also reduces the XP they will gain (suppressing units will make them harder to damage said units and also encourage enemies to just hit retreat faster and not give them more XP). |
I think a bipod MG34 team with fast set up and narrow arc would be really cool and match the OKW flavor.
I really dunno if we can get an HMG team any faster than a Maxim though.
I'm not really sure what'd be perfect for their flavour though, I'd have assumed their infantry being hard-hitting should thus make their HMG rely on said units for actual damage - as we know, either the HMG42 (Best AoE suppression) or Maxim (best single-target suppression) would fit such a concept better, and the HMG34 has no real "I'm just here for suppressing" hook to its stats save for adding on "...because I don't actually do damage" at the end. |
Well only issue im seeing is that the mg34 cannot vet since it does no damage.
Tru dat
your explanation doesnt make any sense if its meant to back up your point
I think Beef was trying to focus on the specialized part, with "hard hitting" being a bit of a poor choice of words to his true point. |
First they were called Ostheer. Then they were called Germans. Now they are called Wehrmacht. Who knows what they will be called next.
German Wehrmacht Ostheer
Technically I think this is the only time I've seen something official call the East Jerries "Ostheer". Or was there something long ago that I've missed?
But it should be Ostheer. |
Ostruppen can get the cover bonus when they use trenches, but only if you deploy the trench on yellow destroyed ground,
Reallllly now? Sounds like something that could be related to the bug on how no AT guns get auto-heavy-cover anymore. |
actually only too like 45 minutes to write this srihead
Can't read this, clearly not properly edited.
Of course not, I already read all of it which I appreciate and will consider for my own play.
...kinda sucks to hear you basically say USF mediums are mostly a waste of time though. |
You should realize you dont get more vet with the vet 5 system on alot of OKW units.
I dunno if I'd really say that, there's a few examples, but most of them seem fairly significant to me. |
