The ISU was also nerfed years ago, around the same time as some of those elefant nerfs. Feel free to read about it I remember the good old ISU . Still, the point is that allies are simply much better than ost, and Soviets are simply the best of all factions and slight adjustements should be made to Soviets rather than to Axis imo. And here's a little number I tossed off recently in the Caribbean: Isn't it awfully nice to have an ISU? Isn't it frightfully good to have this tank? It is just funny how some people can be so vocal about making sure that tigers become cats, but keep saying that 70 range monster is just fine. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: ISU-152 HE shell range should be reduced?23 Mar 2020, 22:38 PM It is simply true that Soviets are the best overall faction mainlny because of combining 2 funcionalities on one unit. ZiS, ISU, and other units are very often too good at dealing with both infantry and armour. You buy ZiS, you can use it too kill tanks as well as infantry or other AT guns or maybe mgs - pick what you like. Same with ISU - kill infantry, tanks from 70 range, why not? It is just hilarious to read about lethal tigers that actually have to be in range of at guns and tank destroyers to deal any damage. Soviets are simply OP because of such things. Nobody wants to admit it but I just don't believe that such obvious things don't get noticed. In: COH2 Balance

It's available as a mod replacing the Breakthrough Doctrine here. Give it a try and tell me what you think! Desperate Measures Doctrine Hold the line using improvised units and raw fervour. Augment your front with dismounted Panzer Crews, basic fortifications and officer supervision. Call-in emergency "Ersatz" Panzer IVs to check the enemy advances. [0 CP] Panzer Crew Deploy Panzer Crew squad. Having more crews than panzers, the high command authorized using dismounted crews as substitute infantry. [2 CP] Sturm Officer Deploy a Sturm Officer and his Obersoldaten bodyguard. The officer improves nearby infantry and has a number of abilities to weaken the enemy. [2 CP] For the Fatherland Infantry in friendly territory will receive a defensive bonus and movement speed increase for the duration of the ability. [3 CP] Field Defenses Volksgrenadiers can build minefields and bunkers. [8 CP] "Ersatz" Panzer IV Deploy "Ersatz" Panzer IV. Rushed to the battlefield, this tank can still engage the enemy, but arrives in poor state and its maintenance takes longer. Panzer Crew details: "Ersatz" Panzer IV details: Rationale: Representing the state of OKW after the failed operation Wacht am Rhein - having lost most of their materiel and even marginally competent personnel, they have to rely on sub-par substitutes and fanatical fervour to hold the line against the Allies. Everything and anything is thrown to the frontlines. Panzer Crews are not very potent in combat alone, but synergize well with For the Fatherland (decreases received accuracy and increases movement speed) and Sturm Officer (Smoke Grenade, Target Them!). They are primarily a support unit - on Vet0 they have 20% higher repair speed than Sturmpioneers and on Vet1 unlock the handy "Repair Critical" ability. However, Sturmpioneers repair rate scales better with veterancy and upgrades, while also being more potent combat unit. The LMG-34 upgrade is there to make them slightly more relevant in the late-game. Rushing for Schwerer Panzer HQ is very appealing, as "Ersatz" Panzer IV promises medium tanks 60 fuel earlier than usual. Will you rush one out to the field as a shock unit or spend time to repair it first? Remember that all of its downtime is doubled! Sturm Officer is one of my favourite units, both thematically and mechanically. Sadly, he has to compete with Panzerfusiliers for munitions in the ONLY doctrine he's in. I think he has some more breathing room in here even with For the Fatherland, minefields and MG bunkers available. Just great There should be more of such doctrines for OKW. In: COH2 Gameplay

It actually could be fired with timer to explode mid air above enemy troops with devastating effects. The Elephant where used in real life where used both against vehicles and against enemy strong points. I guess one of the biggest shocks of new players is that some tanks shoot their cannons at infantry and nothing happens. In: COH2 Balance

Those are also the people complaining about the zis that it can dislodge team weapons also selectivly forget that soviets have nothing like bundle or rifle nades or ai upgrade stock for that matter. When pgrens get a good flank on a 6 man team its a very high chance it wont survive. When a penal does the same to a 4 man ost team its odds to escape are better. Not that this is a problem its just how it was intended/balanced out. The isu is available in much fewer doctrines then a tiger and viable only in big game modes. Panthers are fast and durable enough to threaten it. The twisted logic you speak of extemds both ways. Isu one shotting and very strong very short range at satchels are bad, teller/and ST (when it hits) one shotting is ok. Demo bad lets give okw a mobile one. Katty wipes single unit its op. Stuka zu fub wipes multyple its fine.... I agree with the above - yet imo the tourney results show certain things. OST is at a disadvantage and Sov is significantly better overall. I really play all factions and still can't understand how the same people can complain about Brum and don't acknowledge it is a tier 4 unit and very difficult to micromanage and how fragile it is, yet, they are ok with HE shells on a cheap sherman with a turret, now they want to say tiger is OP while they don't see 70 range beast on their side. Sadly, I really think that being blind (even you do it) to things like overperforming soviet ZiS is not helping the game develop (ZiS should be more expensive for what you get imo). And it is the other way around when it comes to tank perception on this forum - many allied players say Axis armor is stronger so they need those longe range tank destroyers while they have stuff like ISU, churchills, KVs etc and they are ok with that. Still they claim that their armour is fragile so 60 range TD for axis is a bad idea. A lot of twisted logics to really incredible lengths. And don't try to say that I'm crying about it. I really think that details add up and it is easier for Soviets to win. In: COH2 Balance

(Winter patch)23 Mar 2020, 13:02 PM I'm generally against nerfing the heavies by making them worse - I would nerf them by making them more expensive manpowerwise. Sth like at least 100 manpower. ISU hard counter all infantry (ISU far penetration 200 dont hurt much) Ele+JgT hard counter all tanks. If it is problem, lets make ISU clone of Elephant. Or change for Su-100. I, personally, wouldn't like to clone stuff. It is all in the price. Such a behemoth should simply be significantly more expensive if it has such range, so much armour and engages infantry AND armour. Same with heavies. If they are so powerful I'd make them much more expensive compared to mediums and the problem would solve itself. It would also lead to cool decisionmaking - do I prefer have like 2-3 mediums or 1 heavy tank? I'd increase the price of all heavies when it comes to manpower at least 100 but wouldn't nerf them. Same goes for ISU. I'd retain its power but make it simply more expensive. In: COH2 Balance
