I'm all for Brum armour buff. At the moment it doesn't seem to be real last tier unit that is very micro intensive and quite too fragile for the moment it appears on the field. |
It is cheap it is fast and it has buffed target size.
Stugg is very annoying to my FF.

when i started playing this game after a good bit of heroes and generals, men of war assault squad 2 robz mod and warthunder i was pretty insulted at how they handled the game but especially vehicles.
The infantry weapons make no sense, the squad sizes are the biggest BS ever, the Puma is absolute BS and don't even get me started on stuff like the scott and stuart and stugs
this game is the definition of random game that has a visual ww2 flavour but has pretty much nothing in common with ww2 combat aside from the visuals
I like it a lot, though I really think decriptions would help a lot.
Coming back to a rak. It can retreat and has 5 men, which makes it really good. Either make it 50 range or increase the price. Too good for such a price, especially when compared to fragile pak. I'm more towards price increase as it would make OKW infantry less oppresive and delay it a bit more or make them more voulnerable to lights. |
new to the forums as a poster and I haven't played that much pvp recently because frankly the game balance infuriates me (at least when playing vs AI which is very different).
If you look at the game progression that lelic aimed for OKW is supposed to have early game supremacy and advantage over pretty much all other factions. I find the lack of supression in early okw gameplay really really annoying because of the lack of MG and the 251/17 being a questionable choice at least vs russians because of ptrs (pls nerf)
regarding Ost a faction i feel more inclined too at the moment, I just like the units more but the faction is really underpowered they should make grens t0 with the MG to make a battle phase 1 and t2 building more viable and maybe add another support unit in, maybe even pioneers since bunkers are more of a mid game thing?
in short I think the raketens are necessary because early allied halftracks are really really annoying and okw doesn't have an early MG already which I see as a big disadvantage because it makes it difficult for okw to set up.
I would like okw more if they reworked sturmpios and penals because at least in p vs expert AI penals are stupid strong.
also raketens are not just a shrek on a carriage because it has a breech, unlike a shrek which gives it much more range and accuracy.
My idea would be to create more detailed unit descriptions that really suggest how to use a given unit or what are its strengthes and weaknesses, since it may be really surprising to new (or even quite seasoned players) how the unit behaves in certain situations (like effectice range, unique abilities, whether its guns pin or not, etc) |
I never save replays nor do I allow my games to be publicly accessed. Feel free to correct me wherever you see fit. Only thing I will disclose is that I have 533 hours in COH2, whether playing vs experts or playing vs humans. I just made a basic, brute-force comparison of roles. Nothing special nor extensive. Non doctrinal of course. If I've made a factual boo-boo, correct me. I used coh2 stats to compare panzer vet with sherman,rest are just from my experience playing COH2, about how units behave. Do point out the mistakes, I'd appreciate it, it was late when I typed that.

But just to show a bit of cherrypicking. You suggested sherman is worse than p4. Sherman has a crew, which, for example, means you don't have to pay for pios to repair it, it also means it can cap. The saved manpower you can spend on infantry or support weapons. The crew will usually mean you can repair it much faster and have much higher battlefield presence. Because of saved manpower you will also have more 'combat' infantry units on the field, which will add up with "free" officer units creating infantry advantage. Sherman has also higher sccuracy on the move, which will mean you can chase and run away more effectively. Sherman is also cheaper than p4. So the conclusion is that it is often a better tank than, for example, p4, especially the one from ost. |

But tbh how You compared tanks is wrong. Hard to read because of so many inaccuracies, wrong assumptions and simple cherrypicking. Which lvl are You? Maybe You should show some replays? |

But it might just show how hermetic the game has become to new players. Maybe too many things are counterintuitive. Once you get used to them you take them for granted, but initially they are frustrating. |

I hear You. Still IMO it would be more logical for panther to become the best (and most expensive) premium medium tank. It should probably have lower armour and standard medium tank range cannon, be able to penetrate most tanks but also deal with infantry. I wouldn't like it to become a comet,though. I would like it to be a logical continuation of teaching for ost. The reason why you actually feel you want tier 4 asap. Also, it would be historically accurate. But I understand that it may be just me |
Can't we make panther a slightly better comet? A tier 4 panzer 4 replacement. Just like it was meant to be historically (The production cost was just slightly higher than that of p4) I simply don't agree it should be some kind of 'strange' tank destroyer. Tier 3 stug should be ostheer's main TD while p4 should be replaced at some point by panthers that should be sth like 20%-30% better than ostheer's panzer 4s. |
Few people been talking about the panther and it’s accuracy issues even with veterancy. Just realized that the medium buff of target size will nerf this against the panther which the panther doesn’t currently need. Please give the panther veterancy some kind of accuracy buff so it isn’t missing shots at 5 range. It’s absurd.
