Yes, it is a plasma shield against anything and everything not just offmap arty. It is a failure on behalf of Relic that it even exists in the game, and if I was face to face with the person who came up with it I would look them in the eye and tell them the same thing.
So back to the original topic, unless you have Brit plasma shields, and offmap arty is called in you need to vacate the area.

In CoH1, blobbing is almost certain way to victory, but also certain way to lose. The reason would be capping and sizing. Capping require you set back one squad to cap, and big map size force your troop to spread out to attack/defend more point.
Back then, cut off is more rewarded. Strategic points serve no purpose, but have to be protected to access other resource.
In CoH2, Capping system is no longer require squad to stand still, and does not need to be near. Just walk by with your blob and it will be yours.
Cut off is no rewarding, it's suicide mission except for early vehicle like kubel. Nobody need to cut off their main force=>Further blob encourage.

I already mentioned this, and it was 4x MP40s in CoH, since one of the models, presumably their NCO/Squad leader, had an StG 44.

Their squad leader carries mp44 when not upgrade. But it acts like a better rifle, not a smg. |
During heavy battle you can hear dive bomb when the timer is 2-3secs to drop so the effect is the same as you wouldnt hear it at all.
Dive bomb has a huge siren noise. Why would anyone not hear it? The method to avoid is also simply, just spread your unit out (not select all and move to one direction). Always work for me with minimal casualty. |
By the way, I'm amazed why B4 precision was bad but Sturmtiger shooting from FoW, through everything is legit.

And yes - it's not harder to dodge B-4 round, than Stuka bomb, cos B-4 shots pretty loudly. Loud enogh for to hear it and start to move vunerable to strike units.
Make me remember the time I used OKW. The B4 was lucky enough to land a shot right on medic truck with volk nearby. But unluckily that only one of my squad was wiped.
I'm sure at that moment I did not hear a single B4 shot. Seem like the only one who can hear it clearly is the one who use it. The noise of the battle won't let you hear, or even you do, it's too late. |
Indeed, if you, guys, like vCoH unit selection so much, why don't you just play it instead of trying to change CoH2?
I've never played any version of original CoH and find CoH2 just about perfect.
It's not about people like vCoH. It's about porting vCoH stuffs to CoH2. No new model can be imported, or just simply added to the game through modding.
Relic is infamous for being stingy since DoW2. They restrict modders in every ways, they don't allow modder to do whatever they want to. What is better between vCoH and CoH2 up to this time? It's about modding.

OKW is completely different than PE. In CoH1, Wehrmacht is Western Army and PE is just a elite battlegroup to aid them.
In fact, many people find PE is more like remain of afrika korp gathering together, which is why they access to mobile unit and unconventional tactic like scorched earth. |

Wespe for Wehr and Hummel for OKW would be nice additions. I mean, both Axis Armies have rocket artillery by default but no SPGs, why? Allies have both doctrinal SPGs and Rocket Arty, well, at least the Western Allies, MissCommissar is probably the only person here playing and crying about Soviets anyway.
Okay, did play allies? If so, I give you a choice:
Between Priest and Calliope, which one you choose?
Between Sexton and Land Mattress, which one you prefer?
Soviet has no SPG so I will not include them.
Rocket has already had superior perfomance to spg. Why would you set back for SPG? For variety?

I know that it would need a bit of an effort, but last night I was complaining to a friend that OKW is getting the leFH arty (the same as ost). They could've given them a Hummel/Grille/Wespe for that role. This way OKW would feel a bit unique imho.
The slot in both commmanders could fit for SD-2 Butterfly bomb, which already in USF campaign designated as M83 Cluster bomb.
The bomb is meant to be air force disruptive attack (luftwaffe) or instant deploy mines (defensive). |
