Why there is even reason to discuss pather really?

Before saying its UP or OP at least name the advantages of it in meta and in armys its represent in.

Lets forget about bad accuracy and imagine its got buffed. What the point of going for panther?
Allies:
FireFly has insane damage burst and its easy to vet. Can fight heavy tanks.
SU-85 has really nice range and penetration aswell as cool vet. Can fight heavy tanks
Jackson is very fast, has good penetration, rather cheap and after patch has nice HP. Can fight heavy tanks.
Axis:
JaghtPanzer is the easiest tank to get vet 5 on, it has camo and really nice RoF. With vet can fight heavy tanks.
Panther: the most armored of all, tanks like sherman\cromwell\t34-75 would have problems penetrating its frontal armor. Hard to vet. Cant fight heavyes like IS-2\Churchill\ISU frontally.

All of thouse units (aswell as Panther) share same disadvantages - almost non existend AI.

So the only and single Panther advantage, if we ignore all other stuff - its hard to fight it with lowest tier medium tanks. And thats pretty much it. You pay 180+ fuel only for armor on your medium tank. Aside from armor Panther is the downgraded version of PIV without any AI capabilities.

Oh and I would also like to add, that the whole consept of "panther is flanking\chacing TD" isnt working. It only works for Jackson, because it would be penetrated anyway, so flanking with it isnt going to put you in disadvantage due to close range fights. While flanking with panther removes its armor advanatage, since it will be penetrated MUCH more ofter in close range fights.

The abiloty is actually really good, on any faction that is not as munition starved as ostheer i would consider it OP. Even as ost it can win you a game if you pop it during big engagements. Its also important to note that once you have some ostruppen on the field it starts to snowball quickly with cheap to reinforce 6 men sqads. Ballance team recognised that and they even nerfed the ability in dbp.

Tbh I dont know how relief inf can win you game, considering this ability costs you 90muni mid game, where ost need it the most (schrecks\mines\mine sweepers and so on). This ability is somehow usefull only in defense, where you know that you would lose stuff no matter what and after 2 of your squads get half of the moddels killed you get ost squad to quickly move them to front line.

The only problem is that by that time USF would have few bars\LMGs, tommies might have brens (or 5 men or nothing, because they still would beat them) and soviets either PPSH or guards\shocks\penals which again would beat them.

Main advantages of osttupen commander is that you can spam them early, where you would both have on-pair army. While relief inf is awaible and possible at such point of the game, where osts are not worth it for such trade off.

Making them call-in unit in this commanders, wont change anything in general, because they still would arrive at such point of the game where un-supported osts (and even 2 of them) are useless. The only change it would bring to the game - osts would be more avaible.

AFAIK (I might be wrong!) there is a commander with a Tiger and Relief Infantry which would be a way too strong combo imo as Osttruppen somehow compensate the weak early game of the Ostheer and the Tiger is a nice endgame tank.

Well it could be a bit weaker versions of osts, lets say without PanzerFaust and LMG upgrade

Why not to make obests awaible at HQ when T1\T2 is builded and limiting them to 1 or 2 squads with LMG upgrade locked behind T3. If T3 is built limitation removed aswell.

Their vet should be tonned down, if this is done. But I think it would make great synergy with volks and would help quite a while in mid game, since OKW would have powerfull long range squad, which cant be massed and still would lose 1v1 to upgraded inf, forcing players to support them early on and because of limited number chose where they want them to be.

Right now OKW feels like soviets in some cases, where you need to pick doctrine with a call-in inf for your mid game.

Assume it is possible to change abilities at will.

Well, thing is, if ppl at Relic would like to make some new abilities then we might even get few new ones, problem is that its kinda hard to make some of listed commanders good without bringing new stuff to them.
