FWIW,look up the Buffalo Soldiers (92nd infantry division) and Black Panthers (761st Tank Battalion). Both served in WW2 with distinction. Yes, America military was segregated then, but these men served well.
From Patton to the 761st:
Men, you're the first Negro tankers to ever fight in the American Army. I would never have asked for you if you weren't good. I have nothing but the best in my Army. I don't care what color you are as long as you go up there and kill those Kraut sonsofbitches. Everyone has their eyes on you and is expecting great things from you. Most of all your race is looking forward to your success. Don't let them down and damn you, don't let me down! They say it is patriotic to die for your country. Well, let’s see how many patriots we can make out of those German sonsofbitches! |
W00t!
Finally, USF can field at least one heavy tank to counter Axis' 2 or 3... |
What's "War Effort"? |
This is a game against Migrefla (who is a good player) where I do use emplacements to good effect. Even with some sloppy plays by me heh.
Watch here..
The thing about mortar pits (which I do actually like to a degree) is the toughness and trouble the enemy has to go through to destroy it with normal mortars and Liegs. If they are bombarding that position while yours is still supporting you have an advantage and can push them off. Leading you to repair and refit.
It's always about good placement. Keep a mortar pits back where it can support a VP or two and it'll force the Axis player to move up and attack it. I do admit it does require a decent amount of trouble and some rng to keep it repaired and protected.
On Topic: Churchill change is not as bad as I previously thought after some more games with it. Still gives medium tanks and lighter a thrashing but now dedicated anti-tank guns will have a easier time dealing with it.
KV - 8 was good. Still a massive threat to infantry on flanks, in buildings, and surprise attacks. Not quite wipe everything it use to be but the building damage to infantry is still high.
Huh? ISG has trouble killing a mortar emplacement? In what world does that currently happen? |
If it's so fragile, let the player defend it, rather than abuse a nuance. FFS, why can't ALL AT guns fire through buildings and tree groves then? They're just as "fragile", aren't they? Good for the goose, good for the gander. |
It shoots through groves of trees, too, that other units cannot. I never liked the ability it could shoot through both, especially on the building rich maps that promotes the camping nature (MGs in houses, ISGs in back, which means you can't flank with men and with the Pak 43 shooting through buildings, you can't get the tanks in.) |
Color me not surprised... |
You mean, the ISG is the only thing that keeps OKW in the game at all. It's absolutely OP, but it's a crutch masking the weaknesses of the rest of the faction.
Pack Howitzer is even deadlier than the ISG against infantry, haven't you read a word I've said?
I repeat, you cannot make judgements about balance, unless you have played the side in question. Life is not an ez-pz cakewalk for Axis. At all.
There are so many things that the Allies have that are blatantly OP, try and consider some of them.
Disagree. Well played Kubel, pio storms can give just a good opener and toe hold.
Disagree.
Disagree. And please, no more making comments in your life about sports or politics or whatever until you've actually played the sport or have run for office or held a position in leadership in the same role or do XYZ.
Some, but not the overall game changer such as ISG. I have yet to see any single unit for Allies own a game so much like the ISG "strat" does. |
I don't get why you say you agree, and then contradict everything I said. The only thing the Pack Howi gains on vet is barrage buffs. This makes its barrage do about the damage of a 105mm LeFH, but does not affect autofire.
Its autofire is the same at Vet 0 as it is at Vet 3. You have no idea what you're talking about.
The barrage is what makes it potent for countering the ISG, what makes it "worth a damn". It's arty barrage or the WP (whatever round that is) for the slow burn. I want the ISG dead, as that single unit is what keeps OKW in control of the entire game. |
Weaker? More damage, more pen, more suppression than the ISG (yes, it's possible) and twice the AOE.
And you can easily get 2 of them as USF. I do it plenty myself if I haven't had many squads wiped, and even if I don't, 1 Pack Howitzer to me often seems to beat 2 ISGs.
I'll agree. Pak howie really isn't worth a damn until it vets up. Getting there is the hard part and once there, keeping it alive is a chore (mirco'ing). A solid OKW team will counter arty a pak with a stuka, just about when you're vetted up, and it squad wipes the pak with ease. So you always gotta be shooting and scooting with the pak. The ISG, is ALWAYS potent, even when squad wiped. The "reboot" of it isn't as hurtful, IMO. Again, with its med truck advantage. |
