I haven't seen a discussion about it. I think the penalty needs to go. You get punished and could just go for a regular Tiger for about the same initial cost which is only slightly weaker and can be called in again after a loss. Keeping the penalty is just overkill now. As I mentioned somewhere else, punishing a player for keeping a unit alife isn't good game design. In: COH2 Balance

Its the absolutely breathtaking atmosphere which reslts from the astonishing details in graphics and sound. i mean, i can zoom in and tilt the camera and i feel i m in the battle myself (this feature is the reason i fell in love with relic games since dow1 2004. this feature makes me give it 99% score if i was to review). the animations, effects, physics, the traces tanks leave behind, the splinters when a house shatters. it's something no other RTS (!!!!!) has ever achieved. not even total war. additionally the sounds, the voice acting. all this stuff together.... While I agree that Cohs charm is the atmosphere, voice lines etc. a large part of the atmosphere was lost when they enabled Amis/ Brits to team up with Soviets. #stillsalty In: Lobby
Thread: 22220 Apr 2018, 16:23 PM I hope we will see a return of the 222 as it used to be in Coh1. It could be used to actually engage blobs and snipe a model here and there. Currently I feel it lacks a certain purpose and cant really stand its ground. I understand that people are sceptic about the new 222 though. Partisan warfare in general was brutal however. My grandfather told me how Partisans would span metal wire across the road so that bikers would be (and if they were unlucky: almost) decapitated when driving along. Now possibly in its best spot yet. • Wehr Panther fuel cost from 175 to 185 • Wehr far accuracy increased from 0.03 to 0.035 • HP increase from 800 to 960 (all variants) • Front armour reduced to 260 • Veterancy 2 +160 HP bonus replaced by +10% armour bonus • OKW Panther reload from 6.1 - 6.4 to 5.2 - 5.6 • Rear armour reduced from 110 to 90 (all variants)" When they have to write that the Panther is in the best spot yet, I have trouble believing in that. If you read a bit between the lines you will see that the Ostheer Panther isn't affected by the reload time decrease. The OKW Panther just gets adjusted to Wehr levels. Thus the Ostheer Panther (which currently is underpowered) gets a minor buff with a nerf again. This was the case in the previous patch already (buff + nerf = fixing little to nothing). Combined with the StuG nerf, I'm somewhat sceptic this will work to keep Ostheer relevant lategame. 2) The PG buff is a bit over the top regarding the Schrecks. I'm afraid this will lead to Schreck blobs becoming meta. The far accuracy is great since for me PGs lost all their purpose being outperformed by regular Grens on far range. 3) The 222 buff seems to be too much aswell. I fail to see how Brits might win against that. Even an AEC should be in trouble. In: COH2 Balance

I want to have a constructive discussion about it since this is honestly how I feel about the state of the game currently. That being said feel free to ignore the obvious forum trolls answers (not calling his name). The Axis factions do not stand a chance on an equal skill footing in 2vs2s (Brits excluded). The US and especially Soviets are overperforming. Both Axis factions lack in most of the relevant aspects of the game. 1) Infantry: Double BARs and/ or Guards eat any infantry the Axis can muster. Even when going Jäger Inf, the US and Soviets hold an infantry advantage. 2) Support weapons: - Maxim spam is destroying a lot of games. 3) Tank destroyers: - 60 range TDs for Soviets and US dominate the lategame. - Su 76 spam has reached levels where Panzer IVs lose their purpose. 4) Abilities: - The IL-2 skillplane has become meta. 5) Other: - Two men sniper squads also are a common annoyance in 2vs2 and kill games. In short: The Allies can easily swarm the Axis factions with infantry, TDs keep any tank at bay and this synergy is hardly counterable for the Axis. To me it seems there is no aspect of the game Axis aren't being outperformed by the Allies. I can't be the only one seeing a problem here. In: COH2 Balance
