Then says:
Just ignore him. No point discussing with him. |
You know for the Panther to be actually good but not overbuffed from the beginning, one could give it better vet bonuses.
What about having increased armor at vet 2 to be able to deflect shots?
With the overbuffed Allied TDs the vet nerf was totally uncalled for. |
Everybody knows that all Axis tanks other than the Panzer IV are underperforming. The Tiger and Panther barely deflect shots. Neither does the KT. Added with gun splash nerfs for heavy tanks.
But with the current community patchers, I don't see this chaning anytime soon.
They were responsible for unwarranted vet nerfs (Panther, JPIV) in addition to penetration buffs for Allied tank destroyers. To add insult to injury Elefant and JT were also nerfed. Lategame has totally shifted to the Allies (against the game design). |
The Coh1 doctrines were better because they had a theme and not random units and abilities thrown together.
When you took defensive doctrine as Wehr you gave up offensive potential (Tiger) for defensive potential (better bunkers, 88).
Even the tank hutner doctrine was way more thought through than "Jäger armour" (retarded name btw.) which randomly throws an Elefant with Stuka dives together.
This original straight forward design is a lot better than the randomness of Coh2 doctrines, where you get a Tiger, G43s, movement speed, Osttruppen and a Stuka for no apparent reason. (Encirclement doctrine and the useless defensive docs being exceptions here.) |
maintain a good balance "Maintain" suggests that the balance currently is acceptable. Which it is not. |
The 222 just needs to be like the Panzer Elite one in Coh1. Just increase the price to 50 fuel and let it actually snipe one or two infantry models per salvo.
Currently it's just a throw away unit. |
It's blatantly obvious the community patchers pushed their own agenda and even biases into the latest patch.
1) First they claimed the Panther "wasn't in the scope".
2) After major backlash from the community they somehow managed to touch the Panther anyways.
3) Only to then give it (other) nerfs to keep the unit insignificant.
I don't know how you can come to another conclusion.

The problem I see is that Ostheer is still on the backfoot early because of the four men squads but doesn't compensate lategame any longer since the lategame gap was closed/ shifted a bit to the Allies due to TD buffs.
The Panther vet 2 and Elefant nerfs did the rest to screw up any lategame for the Germans.
The problem then stems from dual Jacksons in synergy with superior BAR blobs.
OKW at this point relies on the Panzer IV crutch as well as Ostheer (in combination with the StuG). This however only lasts until the first Jackson arrives. Then the Allies have the upper hand in all regards. |
I wouldn't count it as dead but rather the worse axis faction right now.
The Vet nerfs took one of the major aspects from OKW.
Combined with the heavy nerfs (Panther, JT and even a slight KT nerf years ago) and especially the major TD buffs for the Allies, I think OKW has a hard time to compete. All while having no caches.
Still I think OKW is playable if only for the Panzer IV meta. A lot of units are underpowered but there are some crutches.
The real question is: Is being restricted to blobs and Panzer IVs fun? |
Intense game around the VPs with lots of tanks (Easy Eights, Tiger, Elefant, IS-2s).
Also a good use of combined arms from all sides. |
