Thread: FBP Update v1.25 Aug 2017, 13:21 PM Not fixing the Ostheer Panther or Ostheer Tier 4 in general because it's out of scope is a silly argument. Then adjust the scope... multiple people are complaining about the cost efficiency of that unit/ tier in this very thread. If the developers trust communtiy members with their patches they will also consider your advice. This scope "argument" is a very lazy excuse for not doing anything with the Panther. The effect is Tier 3 meta and no viability of Ostheer lategame. Thus a decline in choices and quality of the game. You can of course keep the status quo and not fix the game completely... that would be the worse option with the according consequences. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: Is Wehrmacht Competitive Right Now?1 Aug 2017, 15:03 PM Ostheer in 2vs2 is competitive yet still the hardest to play. This is because of the faction design: - Still 4 men squads are very vulnerable and hard to keep alife. Especiall Sniper spam can easily defeat Ostheer. - The reliance on support weapons (MG42, Pak40, Mortar) means that artillery hard counters your army setup. - The specialization of units means that if you lose a unit (which again is quite easy as Ostheer), the others won't be able to reach their full potential. - Useless Tier 4 makes it hard to compete lategame. The Ostheer Panther is weaker than the OKW Panther (less accuracy on the MGs, lower rate of fire, less accuracy on the move) despite coming later in the game. Simply put: No justification for that. Thus Ostheer becomes incredibly frustrating to play. It`s still not impossible due to the StuG (going to be nerfed) and Tiger. Sometimes an Elefant can work. The Elefant nerf will kick that option out of the game for good though. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: panzerwerfer is now to weak with fall patch30 Jul 2017, 18:08 PM It's in Ostheer T4 anyway. Panzerwerfer: Can wipe a single squad if you are lucky. Every other artillery can wipe multiple units since they cover a larger area. Take the OKW Stuka as an example. It's like 6 Panzerwerfer barrages. If it hits the unit is wiped. Also the Land matress and Katjuscha can wipe entier squads when they hit directly. And this is over a way larger area. Thus the Panzerwerfer simply is not as cost effective. Brummbär: Quite decent. Not worth building a while new tier though. Panther: Slower damage output than a Panzer IV, less anti infantry capabilities. High fuel cost. Not needed. --> Everybody wonders how we are stuck in Tier 3 meta with Ostheer since a year now. In: COH2 Balance

That thing isn't worth its cost and will never be if it gets no attention. This post needs more attention. The Panther needs something. The so called scope is absolute bullocks since it makes you infexible to react and to install needed changes. I don't see how nerfing Ostheer anti tank options (StuG, Elefant) and buffing the Jackson will fix anything. Currently in 2vs2 Ostheer is already on the backfoot. You might want to consider to actually play some 2vs2s as Ostheer and face T-34, Comet, Sherman 76mm spam. Then you will figure the only option currently is the StuG. The Panther is not viable at all. Now you indirectly nerfed the Panther out of the game versus US players. Though one could argue that it already was nerfed out of the game already. Let's say you pissed on the dead corpse of the Ostheer Panther then. :/ In: Lobby

This is a huge issue that has been discussed quite intensely on this forum. I really expected some changes here. The Panther seriously needs adjustments. Thread: Fall Balance Preview18 Jul 2017, 15:03 PM Still no Ostheer Panther buff? Disappointing. That was one of the major concerns over the last year on this forum. Instead we delete Elefant and Jagdtiger from the game for the sake of 4vs4 scrub-mode. At least the (real) StuG nerf didn't hit which means tier 4 will still be unviable as Ostheer since you can jsut spam StuGs 24/7. Now even more so since other alternatives got nerfed. In: Lobby

So you consider the Elefant good because: - It can't kill infantry. - It is supposed to be countered by medium tanks. --> Thus it is supposed to be countered by almost all units in the game. The Elefant sucks versus medium tanks which make up almost the whole Allied tank force in the game (except the occasional Pershing). It is easily swarmed. Even when well supported a horde of mediums can take down the Elefant and leave under Pak fire. And it is planned to make it suck even more versus medium tanks with a damage reduction, taking it from hardly useful and easily flanked to an insult to any Ostheer player. In: COH2 Gameplay
