I wonder what's the point of the ranks, it only shows how much time you played in a very inaccurate way. Couldn't we instead have ranks that goes up and down depending on how you do? This could be used for MM too. The MM would dinamicaly adjust to your current rank. Counter-Strike GO does that and it has a great MM.
Edit: Earning a rank also feels much better in those conditions, since at some point it will become hard to earn them and each rank tells you that you are getting better. |
They do have the jackson but as others point it out US armor late game takes more micro skill than German. The fact that it takes more skill to win in the end means that the germans have armor superiority.
IF you want to go that route of glass cannon spam, the US then needs a non doc spammable type of AFV like the Stug. Jacksons are too valuable and expensive.
Currently the Wolverine is it, but it is doctrinal and it is UP .
IMO, adding the non doc Hellcat at 100 fuel would be a good compromise (high speed/fastest tank in the game, 76mm gun, 50 range)
Well i can't say i hate a good challenge. If it's more micro for better effect i am down for it. Also it dosen't have to be a spam, but it all depends on price/power ratio it needs more in the power departement in the end since they have paper thin armor and slow turret traverse speed.

I'll agree with Kothre, the Wehrmacht is rather straight forward. The Battlephases might seems wierd at first but you have to build them in order and they can let you skip buildings and save some ressources. So see it as "pre-building a building" part of the ressources of the building go there.
Note that grens are long range, don't run up to the enemy with them. |
A big problem here: historically the Tank destroyer battalions claimed a 3:1 kill ratio against the panzers (real ratio lower, of course) and USA greatly outnumbered them in both tanks and TDs.
I don't feel like the US has 'armor parity (for the sake of the game)' when the Ost can just stug spam to Tigers.
I am not sure what you mean. Do you mean that the US currently dosen't have what it takes to take them down? I haven't used the Jackson much so i can't say, but what i can say is how horrible the Wolverine is. It ambush a puma 1 on 1 and loose consistantly.
As long as we give em speed and firepower with low armor/health. I am sure we could see interesting games. But between the high price of the Jackson and the poor performances of the wolverine... it seems pretty hard to counter a cheap tank spam from the germans.
To increase their firepower further and show they are really glass cannon to use while abushing rather than going gung-ho AND be historically accurate, we could give them a slow turret traverse speed. Making them unreliable if they were to engage from a short distance or get dropped on. |
I agree with CoH2player! No but seriously, part of the american doctrine on tank engagements was to find the enemy and let the tank destroyers engage from a safe position. I think this is what relic tried to mimic and it's a good idea. It gives the US their own gameplay. As long as they get good TDs and recon options, this can works and this makes a for a much more interestting playstyle than just copypasting the one of the other factions. |
Good point FriedRise, i forgot about the Racketenwerfer, you know if you see a WC51 there's going to be plenty of vehicules in this game, this unit will see much use.
I used it in a 1v1 against penal-flamer-M3. Send out a volks squad as a bait while the racketen sits in the fog of war overwatching the volks. When the WC51 comes in, bam. This unit is so slow, if it even start turning, start making some tea, it's gonna take a while. |
It's the mechanized commander, it's based on mobility. With this he'll sacrifice firepower and capping power. Sturms at close range will deal with it pretty quickly if you can get them there. Actually even at range they kick it's ass. Since they sacrifice capping power, use it to cap yourself and make bigger groups of units to counter it's low firepower and make it run away.
in short:
-bigger groups of units (like 2 volks or 2 gren)
-cap cap cap while he can't
-Sturms win if it carries no one
-Fausts
It's also great to flank MGs so be carefull if you plan on spaming MGs against it with no support. |
After testing it you're partially right. It does give it camo like the german sniper but only at vet 3. Thanks not pointing that out, its an ability which doesnt show up in the veterancy file and relic doesnt mention it in the description so I woul dhave missed it otherwise

Grid keys solves most of the problems if not all. I used to be an advocate of the ol' times but after a few matches of getting used to grid keys, it's great and i feel less like i am fighting the interface and that it overall increased my performances slightly. Try it for like 3 matches and report back! |
