Ans obviously once your dual BARs your rifles they most likely going to brute force an HMG frontally. A blob of 3 LMG gren is also able to take on a HMG. And that's probably also the case for UKF in some way but I never play them. Now there are blob and blob, but the game is old enough for the majority of players on the top200 to at least know how to focus fire the gunner. They are OP, in contrast to easily counterable flares. AA require manpower/fuel and eat popcap and for USF faction a specific tech. Building an AA specifically for loiter planes have more downside than hulldown which is free in any aspect of the game. Now the question isn't if Loiter is OP but giving the perfect synergy for the Axis faction, you get the elefant that keep armor at bay and you get the loiter for your mate so he can deal with what best counter the elefant. If I am supposed to be the marshal of this theater, I should have the same tools that they had. The multiplayer was always more far fetched, there is also neither a time frame nor any context attached to a multiplayer battle, so I don't care as much if a tank appears that missed combat only just. It should be believable that this battle could have happened, nothing more. Overall I don't get the choice of the BP though. Does it really add THAT much to gameplay? Some unicorn units like the German Sturmtiger or USF Pershing at least have a very recognizable and distinct role. So breaking the immersion can at least serve a gameplay role. Does the BP really have that? There are other options that could fill that spot. Would be difficult to make the Italy campaign authentic since Axis were able to hold off only thanks of USF wrong decision making at some crucial moments on the early campaign. If the US didn't wait like sitting duck once landed they would have storm 2/3 of Italy before the Axis being able to reinforce their positions. But I agree with you on the distinction between campaign and skirmish. In: COH3 Central

It's not like there are different tools for different units that are supposes to support each other, nan that's just everything possible to made the Elefant more powerful with little to no micro. - Pz4 has a passive aura that give bonus to the tanks around: zero micro required - Hulldown: select the direction and use it, 10 seconds to active but instant disassemble so no extra micro required, no risk to be catch out of position, flanking are meaningless. - Panzer Tactician has been nerfed to a whooping 0.5 second instead of instant. What a nerf for a 1 click free out of jail card button. - Reco loiter: don't try to use your pioneers or a sniper to give you vision, too much micro required and you may run out of popcap to build your brumbars and since only panzer tactician cost you munition, you can spam the loiter at will. Also its super practical to have again Elefant and a Reco loiter on the same doctrine, so you mate can select an arty commander offmap or inmap to complete the picture. In: COH2 Gameplay

Ultimately, I'd much prefer an asymmetrically balanced CoH3, as long as each unit has an accessible non-doctrinal counter; asymmetric balance and faction design does far more for the game's variety than introducing units with mirrored stats, however novel the unit aesthetics may be. Replace the BP with one of many thematically appropriate alternative and let the tank destroyers do their jobs. I think another huge point that we need to address is this: CoH3 is looking very promising so far and Relic has done an outstanding job. The Black Prince is not going to make or break the game; I for one am going to buy and play the game either way. I'd just prefer if CoH3 did not open Pandora's box and risk devolving into fantasy with the Black Prince. It seems Relic want to somewhat mirror factions in term of unit availability and bring the asymmetry around capacity of each units. Honestly this conversation only have a meaning for a really few people, the majority of player don't really care about the version of unit they're using. At the end of the day the Black Prince is a Churchill with a big gun and people will simply see it like that. In: COH3 Central
