Yeah, probably have a 1:1 ratio gren:mg42 would help, maybe 1 sniper in the mix to spice things up. But i'm no pro, so take with a grain of salt |
I'm sure if you change the objective to one win per side to trigger the bonus (whatever it may be), without any timer (so that casual gamers can earn it eventually), it would lead people to play Allies seriously (or at least learn how to use them), even if their heart go to Axis side.
And ofc, have a few changes to make Sovs and USF more appealing to play without blatant incentives (but i'm afraid the aspects that repel people are what are the very fundations of those factions: big squad size of mediocre quality soldiers for Soviets, and early game focused without too much lategame options for USF => hard to change without completely screwing the game and/or balance). |
While we're at it, can we take down elephant and jagdtiger armor down so T34 and ZiS-3 can penetrate it most of the time frontally, because I too want to a-move super heavy units frontally with stuff its supposed to counter.
While we're at it, can you provide something useful instead of your endless flamebaiting ? You are always the first to open your stinky mouth when someone says something about some of the flawed units out there (namely, maxims, isu, even if most of the community agrees something needs to be done), and always the last to provide anything that could make the discussion evolve into something non-flame based (ie: reasonable arguments). Here is a question that could make you sound less like a douche if you manage to answer it correctly: you imply that ISU is supposed to counter paks, so what in the world is supposed to counter isu ? And no, the flanking option is not correct, every unit in this game is supposed to be "countered" when flanked by proper caliber weapons.
To mods: you can invis this post if it is too agressive, but you should consider having a fair moderation towards everyone on the board. katitof is maybe never crossing the politeness line, but he is flamebaiting 24/7 and left untouched every goddamn time.
OT: i guess ISU will be changed sooner rather than later (anti everything is not balanced), and hopefully Elefant will be brought on par with other heavies, since it is kind of extinct. |
Yo sure, let a bunch of devs wannabes fix this game. I'm sure the result will be a pleasure to play. And to anybody claiming there are OTHER balance examples out there, would you mind please giving a hint ? All other RTS games out there gave up the balance in team games, and focused only on 1v1 and 2v2 (and even then, some gave up 2v2 as well). |
you could put Ostheer in trucks and the factions would behave and be played differently. There is too much difference for difference's sake.
Honestly, asymmetric balance is one of the few things that keeps me hooked to this game. Every faction is so remotely different that every game plays very differently. The only bad aspect, is that even with all this diversity, only a few strats are viable, so in the end, every competitive game looks like any other. |
Hello,
I didn´t read all the pages, but if Maxim or MG spam is that annoying why not turn down the capping rate of all MGs. This slows down the progress of MG only users and gives you more time to set up the appropriate counter before losing the whole map. Just a thought.
I actually like the idea. But it would only be fair if core soviet infantry was able to fight on its own, without requiring heavy sniper/maxim spam to be viable. I also do not like the idea to nerf the size of soviet's support weapon's teams to less than 6, as it is a faction feature. But overall, i agree that seeing a 20 maxim spam is rather disgusting, and a good indication that something should be changed.
Though i don't think that cons are THAT far away from being balanced: lifting the received accuracy debuff, and pumping their mid range fighting ability a bit would be a good step in the good direction (and probably all that is needed). Since the last patch, it seems grens are just shitting on conscripts at almost every range, with or without lmg42 upgraded. |
I didn't take the time to read through all 3 pages, so maybe someone has already posted what i'm about to say:
Basically this game is making two timelines coexisting (which is the biggest historical problem, but the gameplay dictates it): Ostheer (from vCoh2) is the incarnation of Wehrmacht from 1941 to 1942-3 (from beginning to the end of Barbarossa), while Oberkommando (from WFA) is the incarnation of Wehrmacht from 1944 to 1945.
So if you take those things into account, and do not care too much about historical accuracy (i'm an history geek, i've been thinking about those things a lot since i began playing this game), Relic is not "too far" from being good. Basically, USF and USSR never fought alongside like you can do in the game, so this fact alone should give you a hint that you shouldn't focus too much about timelines. Having Ostheer + OKW in one team would mean you make cohabit the same army with a three years span seperating them (which is obviously not possible). |
A ability which bombs half of the map without LOS is OK. Yeh yeh man, what ever.
If it bombs half the map, sorry man, but you deserve to lose. For once, something new and refreshing hits the game, and half the community spends countless hours lurking balance forums and/or making videos to somehow prove how OP the new mechanic is. Would you mind going back to the drawing board, and learn how to counter it rather than whining ? It is maybe doing a bit too much damage for its cost, but it doesn't in anyway "bomb hald of the map" on a constant basis. Like i said, if it happens to you every time, the problem lies between your desk chair and your keyboard.
speaking from a 3v3, 4v4 prospective, closing the pocket is really hard.
The video shown is basically the perfect scenario. It might be OP on this one map due to everyone rushing the town and only two cut offs but that's about it.
For everyone calling OP go and try to close the pocket yourself
>Most big team games have 4 cut offs
>When you can capture these points most likely you have already defeated their armies and pushed them out of any pocket
>You need 12 command points to be even able to use the ability, so if you do create a pocket early/mid game you cannot use the ability
Also when you choose this command you deprive yourself from late game amour and smoke launchers. If anything be happy when your opponent tries to close that pocket because he is just choosing a worse commander.
Couldn't have said it better. |
And what are the USF heavy infantry again?
And how much better are sturmpios again ? Lol |
Do you mind listing the details about those storm troopers ? I am absent from home and can't check myself. Price, popcap, abilities, that kind of stuff. Thanks un advance ! |
