Not in this game, no. But you've become a meme for our group. They are going to die when they find out you posted in this thread.
My screen name is quite a mouthful. |
Someone likes my steam name. Was I the one gettimg demoed? I can't remember. |
The Scott is fine for its cost. Counter sniping it with a PaK and then finishing it off by spitting on it is easy.
Also the USF lacks nice things in general so I would be pretty hesitant to nerf more. |
Uuhhmmm... Someone else said that, check previous page.
Good point about dogs though.
Damnit keeping track of comment strings on the internet is hard. |
When some say why Rifles beat Grenadiers, everyone says rifles are more expensive so they have to. But people expect Assengis to wipe Sturmpios. Personal experience does mean something, but what has happened to you was because the RNjesus. If you are lucky, your squad will focus fire on an entity and the enemy will lose 25% of their DPS. If the enemy is lucky, you'll lose 25% of your DPS. But again, at the current state, Sturmpios should beat Assengis.
And please do not argue about real life experience, you might think of it as a side note for your post, but people will focus on real life stuff and this will go off-topic :/
(I myself wanted to argue that I would always choose an assault rifle in CQC conditions, and I only have experience with MP5 and AK family. I don't know why would you choose a sub-machine gun when you have access to M16/M4 or SCAR.)
"Historically, the Stg44 had also a higher rate of fire if compared to the Grease gun."
You literally cited real life yourself but I cannot? I acknowledged in my post that personal experience doesn't matter in this forum, i beat you to it hahhhha. I was just stating that to counter your IRL example because it was stupid. guns are tools. They are all made with a particular job in mind. If you think one built to perform in close quarters is a worse tool point blank than one designed with a big rifle cartridge you are wrong. Go ahead and clear houses with an m16 armchair commando, have fun. Marines don't even do that anymore because all we have are stupid guns not fit for the task, we just send dogs in.

You are quite wrong.
According to my experience and to the stats stormpios and assault engis are fairly equal dps wise on their effective ranges, usually positioning, closing in decides who wins this engagement.
Ingame the Stg44 of Stormpios behave more like SMGs statewise, since their Stg44 differs from the Panzergrenadier ones.
Historically, the Stg44 had also a higher rate of fire if compared to the Grease gun.
Now check the Assault Grenadiers , they have less dps, while costing the same and having less utility(but at least they have one additional entity )
This shows that Assault Engis are perfectly fine.
Sturmpios 57 range 1 dps assengies 48 range 1 dps. That is not equal.
In my experience assengies never win point blank, even coming around a wall at point blank range they didn't even kill a sturmpio before being wiped. Although personal experience means nothing on this forum so whatever.
A higher rate of fire on an assault rifle means nothing when you can't control it compared to a 9mm submachine gun. When I was in the US Marines I learned to fire my M249 SAW at point blank range, that thing has a sweet rate of fire, but I would rather have a submachine gun in close quarters. |
"Dont be so short sighted. Take a look at what the OKW gets , and what the USF gets. In each tier. In every tear. What does each unit counter best."
You said nothing I can respond to here. I'm not going to guess at what you are thinking, you can tell me what you are thinking if you wish.
"The Stuart should have an up gradable .50 cal." It would still suck. A stug does way more and costs roughly the same.
"Bob Lo, you are suggesting the Americans need to react to something the OKW chooses. Interesting. Maby it would better if this field was a bit more even."
If USF chooses the right strategy for the job OKW suffers greatly that is the thing. A quick US flak track against a forward health truck can shut that thing down fairly easily especially since OKW is wasting the 300 mp on retreat at that point.
If OKW goes mech truck and USF gets a captain and an AT gun out fast then the flak truck is useless and USF's superior infantry will chew up OKW infantry that isn't getting healed.
Your leuitenant suggestion hurts OKW too much since health truck would be a big no and a mech truck would have an at gun to avoid for early vehicle play. |
I don't think that moving the AT gun to the Lt to would be an issue, the other 3 factions get their AT gun early, and the captain would be more viable assuming the Stuart got a small buff so it could do its job properly.
As far as being a truck killer the soviets already have AT guns in their first tier along with a machine gun so that says to me that it wouldn't be an issue against the OKW, Okw also get AT from their base truck which can deal with the m20 quite well.
The thing is the Lieutenant has great anti-infantry capabilities and the Captain has anti-vehicle capabilities.
Same for Soviets. Support building counters vehicles whereas Rifle building has absolutely no anti-vehicle. In each case a choice is made whether you want better anti-infantry or better anti-vehicle. Depending on what tier OKW goes for one choice is better than the other. This thread suggests removing that mechanic entirely which is bad.
OKW getting their AT gun early isn't saying much since it sucks bad. and an M20 should never be dueling with a flak truck.
Stuart needs a dozen buffs but I doubt they will ever happen. |
I would think the .50 cal BMG (12.7×99mm NATO) would have better armor penetration and infantry suppression/kills than the MG42 7.92×57mm or M1910 Maxim 7.62×54mm. But that's only reality talking. Why make it a .50 cal when it has less/similar stats to the MG42? Make it the .30 cal, like in CoH1.
Crappy that the MG42 with AP is better anti-armor than the .50 BMG!!!
Real life takes a backseat to balance.
But yes they gave real life the finger in this case. Anything short of a medium tank should be shredded by a .50 cal. I remember seeing one tear through a busted out tank when I was in boot camp.

Game is fun you just can't take it too seriously. It will never be esport material. Too much nonsense thanks to RNG. Rifles missing charging sturmpios with every shot and losing the early game. Obers getting ganked from one Scott shell before they do any damage, tanks not getting destroyed, etc. |
