This is a very big lategame problem,especially in larger game modes for me atm vs soviet.Even if i set up a solid defensive line,Katyusha will inevitably attack it,thats in itself is not a problem.The problem is i have no answer myself -can't answer fire by fire.If katyusha is guarded by is-2 with mines and shocks,its almost impossible to take out while consistently doing massive dmg.You can't answer with arty of ur own.Lefh really sucks,pzwerfer is both inaccessible and sucks.Between 120 mm mortar,katyusha and B4 soviet have uncounterable artillery almost if guarded with mines and is-2/shocks.
B4 atleast can be countered by moving about on recon and stuka bomb.Katyusha panther raids will fail vs smart player with mines.(getting panther is another problem).
Any suggestions?

Sturmpios can squads wipe. And how you can place mine in first minute?
In team games are fuel sectors in middle of the map and kubel/mg give you advantage in firs combat.
Ostheer is weaker in 1v1, but in team games is realy good.
We were talking about early vehicle and counters in nades and fausts and mines?Where did sturmpio come into this?And u hardly need mine to kill kubel as soviet,both m3 or maxim easy,or AT nade.
Yes ost is better in teamgames than 1 vs 1 where its horrible,and 2 vs 2 where its ok.Above that good-very good.But soviets good in all modes. |
So AT nade is for soviets who didn't go T1 against kubel/truck push abusers.
Still an upgrade.

Hehe I know, but my point was that citing a specific tourney game as evidence of strat validity or balance is a very shaky leg to stand on. He talks about Wehr weakness in almost every post then cites a specific soviet game to prove a point. I was just showing that by that logic, Wehr is fine because Jesulin won the finals with them (I don't think they're fine fyi).
Jesulin won vs soviet,not usf which is much more tougher(not that i'm saying its impossible).He's also prob best player.
Also some sov players were saying t1 into shocks as if something completely from another planet,thats was just an example its not so.I have seen and used it on occasion.With proper mines,At nades and backtech zis its not far fetched at all. |

Make ost tiering cheaper, but now pfaust, LMG and pshrecks are optional upgrades from HQ.
LMG and panzershrecks no problem for me at all,fausts however if an upgrade then t1 fuel costs needs reduction as its only defense vs early allied light vehicle. |

I used it to good effect in 2 vs 2 and 4 vs 4 when i played soviet with cons AT nades and mines for backup.
Admittedly i'm not a regular soviet player so i defer to you on this,but its not as farfetched as u might think.

It'll give Ostheer 20-30 more MP to start off with if Pios cost is reduced in line with other engineer units.
Grens purchased from the HQ would obviously mean that Ostheer could get their baseline infantry out just that bit quicker and delay the Infanterie Kompanie (about 80mp iirc) a tad, so your not right off the bat investing MP into a tech building unless you want to.
This should mean more field presence early on, and thus more map control, which means more equitable fuel/munitions in the matchup.
The MG42, Scout car and Pgrens imo aren't shit, situational perhaps, but not garbage. With just a bit more of a solid early game, i'd like to see the lay of the land before making more changes across the board.
The tech vs call in issue requires a solution across the board for all factions, especially Soviets and to a slightly less extent Ostheer. That is a wee bit of a larger issue and going to need a pretty expansive solution.

By shit i largely mean incapable of doig their designated roles,not completely useless.Just clarifying -which is the acse for pzgrens and mg42.For armored car i will repeat -yeah its total shit in every sense of the word.
However when teching,i didn't mean tech vs call-in.I meant the enormous MP costs for ost to access units which it can't due to pressure.Not armor for call-ins.These extra mp costs coupled with american free teching units create a disparity problem in field strength. |

Against OKW t1 is better followed by shocks into is-2 and kv-8.Katyusha as arty.And demo charges.Thats my view anyway.
t-34/76 is useless-even more useless than pz4.
Soviet infantry is a massive crutch on shocks,but conspam is good atm.
Guards need a put away PTRS toggle button,which will switch PTRS with mosin nagants. |
