There is sadly no gunshield or way for the MG to not be floating but I'd rather that than a 30 fuel and however much manpower taxi that can't vet or reinforce.

The Mech Assault doctrine already features a Panzergrenadier squad inside the 250 HT, just not upgraded so yeah, an upgraded Panzershreck squad would do the job in my opinion, it would bring sweet memories for me chasing down Allied tanks back in my PE days of playing competitive in CoH, cancerous, but good times.'

I actually thought a bit more about the 221 and I forgot that they actually added a 28mm AT Rifle to it in real life, so it's possible that a variant or an upgrade for the 221 could be made to incorporate both the 223 and 221 armed with the PTRS acting as the 28mm AT Rifle alongside the base version and 222.

Something similar like what eliw00d did to the 250 can probably be done here as well.

It might be possible to replace the MG in 221 with an AT rifle? :o
Or if it's possible to make a 250 with MG, a 250/10 with an AT rifle should also be possible

My ideas:

SOVIETS

Reconnaissance Tatics commander

1 - (PASSIVE) Forward Observers
Conscripts squads now see further while in cover or garrisoned.

3 - (PASSIVE) Conscript Long range Package
Conscripts can upgrade to replace their rifles with DP-28 LMG for better long-range firepower.

4 - Recon Overflight
Available aircraft will fly a high speed loiter over the target area.

4 - Recon Soviet tools
Conscripts, Penal Troops, Snipers and Combat Engineers have acess to all soviet recon tools like Trip Wire Flares, Recon Parachute Flares and Armored Detection.

6 - Observation Detachment “Valentine”
A British Lend-Lease Valentine Light Tank can be deployed to the battlefield.

OKW

Knight's Cross Holders Doctrine

1 - Knight's Cross Sniper
Deploy a Veteran sniper in the area. This sniper have access to call light artillery barrage.

1 - Sturm Offizier
A Sturm Offizier and Obersoldaten escort can be deployed to the battlefield. The officer improves nearby infantry and has a number of abilities to weaken the enemy.

4 - For The Fatherland!
Infantry in friendly territory will recieve offensive and defensive bonuses for the duration of the ability.

6 - (PASSIVE) Panzer Commander
The Panzer IV, Panther & King Tiger can be upgraded with a Panzer Commander that can survey the battlefield and call in coordinated artillery strikes.

16 - Command King Tiger
Deploy a veteran command King Tiger. Only one is available. This call-in will disable the normal King Tiger.

By the way, the Soviet troops installed additional armor in the vulnerable places of Valentine. The increase in booking is directly related to the appearance in the spring of 1942 of the Germans in service with a 75-mm long gun, both in the towed (Pak 40) and tank / self-propelled (7.5 cm KwK 40 / StuK 40). The installation of additional armor with a thickness of even 30 mm significantly increased the chance of the body not being damaged if the projectile hit the forehead of the tank.

Valentine was also used as a command tank.

Nigo and your further info on the matter I think shines some light on a good idea of a possible British Lend-lease doctrine for the Soviets, think about it for a second here:

We know that there is an un-used Soviet tanker looking commander, this would be perfect for it.

Something with a lend-lease Valentine and Churchill tanks and perhaps again a supply drop, vehicle crew repair and... Soviet Industry? I have no idea, but it sounds good on paper at least.

I also thought about some Ostheer Armor in the OKW like a StuG III and the Tiger, they even have voice lines for them, can be heard in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dtDNG3nJPL8

What do you guys think?

My ideas:

...

Soviet commander

Valentine at 6 cp is way too late unless you buff this version of a tank (like Crecer13 wrote)
Recon Soviet tools is kinda useless imo. Takes slot for something late game.

In this design commander wouldn't be used becouse it simply not effective late game (teamgames) and expect probably opie upgrade for cons no effective tools and call ins.

British land lease though is a good idea of a commander for soviets. Just needs diffrent design.

OKW

Command King Tiger - don't add/make units that can be potensially OP like old tiger ace. It's not needed.

Generally this commander proposition is meh. Brings nothing new (expect ostheer sniper) and it's mix of low cp abilies and units with potensially really opieOP unit

OKW lacks of AT weapon in their commander lists. Tank Hunter OKW doctrine would be perfect for it. Adding hetzer tank destroyer (available in T0 after teching T1 and T2), new infantry squad with shrecks (4 model jeager with panzerbushe and upgradable 2 shrecks), some call in arty - that's what okw needs.

My conclusion as well. Below is my original proposal. Feel free to comment, add or modify.
Though I think adding an off-map artillery wouldn't really fit the doctrine (other doctrines do, though). It's supposed to specialize in AT. Perhaps Stuka CAS but that might just be too much.

OKW
Tank Hunter doctrine

1cp) Teller mines available to Sturmpioneers
OR
2cp) Riegel mines available to Kubelwagen

2cp) Passive tank awareness. All infantry squads now display the location of armored vehicles within XX meters of their position on the minimap and on tactical map.

3cp) Volksgrenadiers double Panzershreck package
- can't be combined with StG44 package
- lose Panzerfaust and flame grenade ability
OR
2cp) special Panzerjäger squad (Jaeger models?)
- perhaps with 2x Panzerbüchse 39 upgradable to 2x Panzershrecks
- if Panzershrecks are default loadout, CP requirement is 3CP)

5cp) Hetzer(38t) tank destroyer (or Stug) available at Mechanized Regiment Headquarters
- Hetzer has longer range, better armor and hp than Puma but is slower and lacks a turret
- Equivalent of SU-76 as an intermediate light tank destroyer

10cp) APCR ammunition. Grants a permament +XX% penetration bonus to Hetzer, Panzer IV, Jagdpanzer IV and Panther.

4 - Bofors emplacement
Combat Engineers now have the ability to construct bofors emplacements.

4 - Allied Supply Drop

11 - MK VII Churchill Tank
A MK VII Churchill Tank can be deployed to the battlefield.

OKW

P-47 Thunderbolt will patrol the area and attack vehicles with a high velocity aircraft rocket strike.

Whermatch

Reserve Support Doctrine

1 - Forward Supply Station
Allows ambient buildings to be converted into a Forward Supply Station. This depot will allow infantry to reinforce and automatically repair nearby vehicles.

2 - (PASSIVE) Defensive Fortifications
Pioneers can dig Covered Trenches and construct Concrete Bunkers.

2 - Panzerfüsiliers
Panzerfüsiliers can be deployed to the battlefield. These light infantry are adept at recon and long range combat.

3 - Panzer II
A light tank Panzer II tank can be deployed to the battlefield.

12 - Panther Command Tank
An elite Panther leader can be deployed to the battle, improving the sight and movement of vehicles.

Brits

US Lend Lease support Regiment

2 - Resupply Half-track
An M3 Resupply Half-track can be deployed to the battlefield. This unique half-track can deploy american weapons on the frontline, like the Bazooka and the M1919A6 Light Machine Gun.

2 - Paradrop Support Weapons
Paradrop in an M2HB Heavy Machine Gun and an M1 Anti-Tank Gun to the battlefield, both of which can be manned by allied infantry.

6 - M5 Stuart
An M5 Stuart Tank can be deployed to the battlefield.

Sherman flame tank anyone?

I think that it would probably be better to just place it in one of the existing commanders instead of placing it in the new one, like I already suggested.

I have edited the topic with your propose suggestion, at least my take on it that is, you could have different opinions on how it should be done.

Yep, already updated the thread with 2 new commander ideas for each of the 4 left Armies, you can check em out if you want, they're *mostly* original.

I'd like to submit my Commander Set Mods for consideration-

Last Days Commander Set- https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1244320542

Second Wave Commander Set- https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1381427264

They both have a commander for each of the factions. The Second Wave set isn't done and I'm open to suggestions for either.

Agreed, that's why I wrote that the M1919A6 might be a bit too OP in brackets in my suggestion.

USF Spearhead Company

1CP - I&R Pathfinders

3CP - Rifle squad marksman (PASSIVE) - per unit upgrade. Equips one members with a scoped springfield rifle. Shifts effectiveness towards longer range. Unlocks 'marksman shot' ability (like the brit one from COH1) Kills one enemy model at a sniperlike range. Basically replaces a potential USF sniper with a muni-cost sniper ability in the rifle squad. Uses up one of the heavy weapon slots, but cant be dropped.

OR Rangers

4CP - P47 recon run

7CP - Rear Echelon Battlefield Expidence (PASSIVE) - RE per unit upgrade. When upgraded RE's recieve extra body armour, the ability to throw sticky bombs to snare vehicles (replacing smoke rifle grenade) and the ability to apply add-on armour to USF vehicles (like RE's give brit tanks war speed.) See the third pic down: http://www.tanks-encyclopedia.com/ww2/US/m4a3e2-jumbo-assault-tank. This is could be a tradeoff for USF players on maps which penalise USF by having few flanking routes with chokepoints

10CP - 75mm Sherman Jumbo (PASSIVE) - Unlocks sherman jumbo production at T4. Appropraite armor, slower speed, can toggle rounds like default sherman. This thing needs enough armor to reliably bounce shreks or its useless.

If not jumbo, give this commander Easy 8's instead, they should be in more commanders like the T34/85, Would be nice to give them add-on armour too .. . Although to would take away some of their speed . .

Heavy Cav comPany should get easy 8's instead of rifleman field defences.
Mechanised should get them instead of the reserve armour.
Keep them in the rifle company too.

USSR
Lots of their commanders are good, but I think consript squad assault package should give an extra SMG. OR somekind of late-game non-doc upgrade which shows them becoming seasoned and better equipped - that they've outgrown their orginal conscript status into riflemen. Making them more accurate and more resistant. Maybe change their vet so they gradually reach accuracy/ weapon use modifiers on par with other nations' fully trained squads? I feel like they don't really scale.

UKF - Commonwealth Regiment
Something representing the rest of the commonwealth would be great . . .

- Canadian kangaroo carrier???? memories. . . I know they said no new units, but if the models already exist in a mod or whatever, can they use them?

- Gurkha riflmen - Tommies that work outside of cover, the a fire-up ability and an ability with makes them good in CQB for a short time? knife thowing? drawing their side-arms?

- Recon flight

- Matilda tank (Austrailian accent?) They used them.

- Polish artillery strike, Offmap arty support from a polish arty unit. Due to their increased prejudice against the enemy, this barrage slowly winds down over time as gunners slip off a few extra shots for good measure. Can decive the opposition into thinking that barrage has already completed.

For Ostheer i have idea of Aufklärer doctrine, focused entirely on recon. 1 or 2 cp would be aufklärers, they are 4 man infantry unit that are equipped with mp 40s. They would have ability to camouflage in cover and get first strike bonus, but their main function would be recon. They would get increased sightline to fog of war when in cover, allowing them to work as bit more durable sniper and close range ambush unit.

4 cp Would be Tank Scopes and recon flight.

as next would be luchs that allows bit more durable 222 that can be upgraded with tank scopes, so it can also function as spotter when in camo. I am not sure what would be practical cp ammount for it so ill let you decide.

for Last ability could be some sort of light off map strike, like 7.5 barrage of fragmentation bombing.

OKW
Frontline Support Doctrine

1. (PASSIVE) Heavy Fortifications
Sturmpioneers can construct Tank Traps, Flak Emplacements, and Trenches.

2. (PASSIVE) Volksgrenadier MG-42 Upgrade
Volksgrenadier squads can be upgraded with an MG-42.
//I don't know how an MG-42 compares to 2 StGs, so the upgrade might have to give them some sort of support ability or something
//Update: just tested how an MG-42 compares to 2 StGs - no additional abilites required

3. Mechanized Support Group
An SdKfz 250 half-track carrying a Sturmpioneer squad is put under your command.
//Maybe give the squad a flamer or support package?

4. (PASSIVE) Frontline Headquarters
Repair Pioneer and Medic crews receive an additional crew member and the Schwerer Panzer HQ can repair itself when ordered.
//The turret would be disabled while repairing

5. Coordinated Defense
Your forces help direct off-map artillery fire at all visible enemies in friendly sectors. Slows down the speed at which friendly capture points are decaptured by enemy forces.
//Clarification: the artillery part only works if you have to have atleast 1 unit/vehicle in a friendly sector

Not One Step Back: (This redesign should actually work)
1) Commissar
2) Manpower Blitz
3) Hold the Line!
4) Scorched Earth Policy
5) Red Banner T-34/85s

Reworked NKVD Rifle Disruption:
1) Radio Intercept
2) Commissar
3) Fear Propaganda Artillery
4) Rapid Conscription
5) Katyusha Barrage

Reworked Counterattack:
1) Assault Guards (no halftrack)
2) Rapid Conscription
3) B4 Howitzer
4) For Mother Russia
5) KV-2

Proposed changes for B4 Howitzer: Cost 100 munitions for each shot it fires, but accuracy is increased substantially (still not pinpoint, but far more consistent)

One more to OKW with OST toys, like Relic said in the news:

OKW

Panzer Festung Doctrine

1 - (PASSIVE) Advanced Warning
Increases the visual range of all captured points, revealing more of the surrounding territory.

2 - (PASSIVE) Panzer Tactician
All armored vehicles get an ability which uses equipped smoke dischargers to prevent themselves from being seen.

5 - (PASSIVE) Hull Down
Sturmpioneers and Volksgrenadiers are able to set German armor in an immobile Hull Down position, increasing defenses and damage.

8 - StuG III Ausf. G Assault Gun
Allows the requisition of the StuG III Ausf. G Assault Gun onto the battlefield. Strong vs infantry and light vehicles.

11 - Sturmpanzer IV "Brummbar"
Allows the requisition of the armored veteran Brummbär Tank to the battlefield. This tank have the 'Bunker Busting Barrage' ability allowed against emplacements.
