How's it going Relic?

You still have 2 years to fill with this 5 year plan haha.

No new commanders in FOREVER

No new army in FOREVER

Let's do Imperial Japanese Army, New Pacific Inspired Commanders for Americans, small Pacific campaign.

Otherwise Let's see what's coming down the pipe for your 5 year plan. I feel like you guys gave it 1 solid year then sputtered out.

Repost of why we shouldn't do Japan:

jump backJump back to quoted post12 May 2017, 05:02 AMKasarov

Japan:
+more axis light tanks
+6 man squads maybe
+an actual navy
+axis demos
+katanas

-katanas
-turtle strats
-CoH2 has no navy
-no unit preservation ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
-obsolete medium "armor"
-a complete lack of heavy armor

*players who believe in glorious Nippon steel might think otherwise

Japan lacks a lot of essential parts to be a proper CoH2 mainstay. It's main strength was its navy and airforce, while CoH is a land-based theater. It's anti-tank capability revolved around woefully unreliable methods compared to other factions, and its own armor is at best late 20's technology. Japan has nowhere enough manpower or industry to compete with any of the other factions. Politically, Japan never coordinated anything with Germany, either.

TL;DR: Japan is not for CoH2

I'd much rather see an German-Italian joint faction based on the defending forces during the allied invasion of Italy in late '43 (PANTHERTURMS!!), as it fits better with the European theatre of war and the timeline. I'd even take Afrika Korps, although those don't fit so well with the timeline. But no Japan.

I do agree though that Relic does need to step up its support for the game. Having the community doing all of its work is lazy, and even then it doesn't actually listen to the community on which changes are urgent enough to be addressed (#scope).

Dude seriously. Relic's done with this game. Maybe they release a couple community made skins in 2 years and then they call it quits for coh2. Get real man, they're not adding any more gameplay content.

How many copies of the game has Relic sold lately? I'd bet it wouldn't be enough to justify the expense of creating new content.

There's no money in it for relic or SEGA so it's not gonna happen. I'm sure they'd LIKE to but they need to be realistic

I know Relic said they'd have a five year plan for coh2, but does anyone know when it was said? (THQ age or after release)

Since the change of management would of changed that as well as the low player count of coh2.

It's sega in charge and it's them to choose what happens since well....$$

DOW3 is where the $$$ is at for Relic/Sega and even then coh2 still has a higher playerbase....

Dawn of War 3 - failed, check out the reviews of players: 56% positive reviews on Steam, 4.9 on Metacritic. I don't even know if it's worth releasing Relic / Sega DLC for the game?

Trust me I know but Pre DOW3 release it was where the money was for them, until well..it turned out to be crap.

DOW3 DLC may save the game, but alot of people will see it a kick in the balls (Waiting for DLC for X item to be fied) I think they're best to look at coh 2 again, and support it more. As well as giving DOW3 some love. But the fact that coh 2 has more averages players then DOW3 just makes me laugh.

I hope the 5 year plan is having COH3 ready for 2018 :snfPeter:

But yeah, just polish and balance the game, no need for new stuff, move one, make another game.

Relic is just so efficient that they finished their 5 year plan in 3 years.

If this interview is first hand, it was said near by 3 years ago. So, looks like we have two more years, or one more year, if this plan was started with release of CoH 2 (June 2013?).

I think they meant when it was release, so technically like only one year to go.

Of course none of that matters since it was all propaganda.

After the « great success of DOW3 »; If i were Relic, i would team with the community to bring the foreign doctrine commanders to the market asap !!!

Those commanders would be coming into the game bundled with units/abilities of the same country.

As an Example : (i'm sure i've forgotten the most important)

A italian commander coming with new italian units;
A canadian commander coming with new canadian units; (arty)
A australian commander coming with new australian units;
A polish commander coming with new polish units; (Cavalry,why not)
A hungarian commander coming with new hungarian units;
A french commander coming with new french units; (partisans)
An austrian commander coming with new austrian units;
A finnish commander coming with new finnish units; (ski units)

And so on.

Easier to be made and balance then a full fledge DLC.

(remove duplicate)

Sold separately for 3.99 USD.

It would be good for the game and for their bottom line.

I would buy them all !

What do you think ?

With DoW3 already down to as many players online as CoH2, I have a tiny bit of hope for some CoH2 dlc meant as a stopgap measure for repairing their budget
