you mean the two howizer you get for free with tech? (they are not great or bad but still an arty that can be good wit some commanders)

or the mortar pit witch can cover like half of some maps with no proper counter?

and i can add the best off maps in the game

the two howitzer require munition to use, that's not free. The british get a munition based off map in place of the rocket artillery for the soviet and axis

instead of giving mp or mp and fuel and popcap you spend 45 munitions per usage, i think it makes up for the lack of rocket arty

The howizers being bad without some doctrines is an other question

They have their specific role but they are don't fight like elite infantry, like rangers or shock troopers do. Iwipe grenade and democharges is reasons why someone rank ~1011 still use them.

And of course this guys never will replace mainline infantry, just the same as panzergrenadiers won't replace grenadiers. Thats answer on question why infantry sections are so stronk.

Im top 50 for 2v2 brits and 8th for 4v4 brits and use commandos all the time for their Jesus bomb. Wipes 4 man squads consistently. Their camo + gammon bomb squad wiper makes them beasts. Other than that they are only good for flanking enemies since they drop models really fast.

Calling the british howizter "free" is being disingenuous, because it's a drain on the british's munition.

axis pay mp and fuel, the british pay munition (or mp for cache)

Granted though, Rifles will usually have a vet advantage over PGs from arriving earlier, and Rifles also do not start with double BARs.

Yeah. Must be why helpinghans (one of the top ukf players) uses them all the time.

Elite infantry are never supposed to replace mainline infantry. They are supplemental.

They are elite when all infantry units are at vet0 to vet1, but due to worst vet combat scaling of all combat infantry units they will loose this status pretty quickly if the game goes on. I really like them and I'm actually playing them but if the enemy squads run around with vet3-vet5 you will only use them the sneaky way, hoping for a good first grenade and/or short range salvo. Its a pitty that the infrared halftruck shows them when they are cloaked, it reduces their effectiveness in bigger game modes where you will always find this vehicle at some point by a huge margin.

AND this is why i advocate for a smoother transition of performance on PGs, from vet2 to vet1.

Some good videos posted there. Really caught me off guard there. I just hate losing 360 mp to a various arty units in the game

Panzerfusiliers and obersoldaten replace volksgrenadiers, guards replace conscripts, paratroopers and rangers replace riflemans more or less.

Seeing as Racks are at Forward Assemblies, which themselves allow units to retreat to, they might as well just have Tommies and Sappiers have them as upgrade options in their unit panels instead.

On-topic: Brits have Weapon Racks so that Tommies can give the enemy access to Bren guns.

On-topic (serious this time): Because (what is supposed to be) the Brit mainline infantry has no utility save for trench-building or being the sole healing option for that faction. Their (Vet3, 5-man) DPS-on-the move is inferior to (Vet0, 4-man) Soviet Combat Engineer squads.

Also, it's not like the weapon rack system gives cheap squads access to the hardest-hitting AT weapon in the game! Oh wait...

Off-topic: Commandos are amazing, both as a combat unit (if you use them right), and as a design concept.

Specialist units should be given roles that your mainline infantry has trouble accomplishing. Otherwise, it's either the specialized infantry or the mainline infantry that becomes redundant:
- If the specialized infantry is not cost-efficient enough, why ever use them? (Why bother with 4-man Obers, when you can have 5-man Volks with infiltration nades? Why ever pay more for less?)
- If it's the mainline infantry becomes redundant, this just messes up with the preservation system (pre-Rifleman buff, you needed to get rid of Riflemen to replace them with Airborne squads).

I like Brit-infantry design better because there is better role attribution:
- Your mainline infantry is tanky, cheap, can repair
- Commandos are there to help you break up the pak-wall, ambush capping squads, etc.
- You have access to a utility unit that can heal your units on the field.

That way, there is always something to gain by maintaining a diverse squad roster (e.g., better access to on-field healing).

Brits have buildable weapon racks and FRP because they have lesser field pressence than any faction, and going to main base for weapons will hurt them a lot. You will never see more than 3-4 (imo 4 tommies is too manpower-expensive on reinforce, 3 squads are optimal) tommies squad and (with exceptions like royal engineer blob) maybe one-two engineers/doc-infantry.
Why they have racks at all? Because Relic love that idea (along with teching without engineers and other WFA quality-of-life additions) and it does not hurt balance at all. Maybe instead of weapon racks they will put infantry upgrades like volks/engies/grenadiers, and tommies can gain weapon upgrades right on the field without going - and it will be a massive buff for tommies at all.
Other units like engies or commandoes have "balanced" impact with weapons from racks, so there is no problem at all.

Sorry to say, but that's just not true. Fusiliers do not have access to Volks schrek. Obers are WAY too expensive to buy and reinforce so they definitely do not replace Volks, they supplement them. Same with Rangers and Paras, they are supplementary to Rifles. Although it's not as clearcut with UKF and USF because all squads have access to same weapons racks.
Your argument that Commandos are not Elite infantry just doesn't hold up in court.
