Well it wasn't a nerf at least.

Meanwhile, the Sexton continues to cry in the corner.

Along with me in the corner.

Seriously, the damage on those things is a joke. CoH Priest was something to be feared, especially with that overwatch ability

Might be a tad to much but we'll see.

I think it's a good thing that Relic decided to go with only a small patch. If it turns out that the unit overperforms it can be easily toned down and there is no debate over what overperforms since there is only one variable in this change.

Small incremental changes are just as good as big sweeping ones as long as you keep a focused goal in mind, if you don't then you can stray and end up all over the place since in single big patches it's easier to have a central objective.

I mean Relic is done developing for the game anyway so It's not surprising they would move to the "patch when ever we have something that could be called a patch" model.

Finally this unit will see some use after crippling alpha to release overnerfs!

Few more crappy units in line to get love.

Before you go on to praise the AEC-Jesus that will spare the Brits from the stale sniper-spam strategy, consider the following:

The AEC just received a massive buff vs infantry and weapon teams. However, it is not as "bad" as it sounds.

- The AoE distance profile (which determines near/mid/far distances) has NOT been updated

What this means, is that the new AEC will "only" be dealing far-damage to most targets. Vs infantry in the open this damage = 24

Compared to the Cromwell gun:
- AEC deals "only" 75% damage
- AEC fires faster (~4 secs vs ~6 secs)
- Has worse moving accuracy (50% vs 75%)

As always, for best results, use attack ground to plant a shot where it will deal more damage.

The new AEC is a beast.

Are you sure the distance profile is the same?

At the nubbins level it seems to make a huge difference. They still miss a lot and still die easily but Pioneers can't just ignore them and cap a point anyway, even shreck blobs have something to fear as long as you see them coming ( hint: if the coaxial is firing you are too close).

You can even use em against garrisoned MGs without wasting both time and ammo on both sides. :)

I love it... Seeing an OKW player reaching for a Pak rather than just expecting to stomp me was, shall we say, a refreshing change.

Damn, there goes my hipster AEC build :s

I builded it for utility using it's smoke to advance on MG's with IC & nades, mobile AT gun and tickling support weapons... nice to see it got better vs infantry and will reflect the high building costs more.

Hope they add more diversity and choices for Brits in the future.

With a bit of blob control from the AEC now and trumping pesky Axis lights I might even have another look at the UC....

Yes. I just checked the numbers. The distance profile is the same as before. As in, it's not the same as the Cromwell.

Even with this butchered up AoE, you will still find AEC to be quite a beast though. It's quite decent at garrison clearing, which is to say, it's a lot better than what the Brits used to have before...

Small patches like this are what happens when people bitch and bitch and bitch about relic making big changes in the previous patches. That's on all of the whiners that make up the vocal minority.

Small patches from now on should be way to go, since it is literally just minor things and bugs that have to be patched

"it's a lot better ( garrisons) than what the Brits used to have before..."

Remind me what that was exactly?

Now Brits need UC, IS, and base arty buffs and some T3 tweaks (price nerf cromwell, retune firefly damage from tulips to 17 pounder) and the ukf will be gold.

To be fair, I can understand why they aren't doing many changes in the middle of the ESL thing.

They really don't want to introduce something game breaking in the middle of a tournament.
