The Best All Around Tank in COH2

For me its the Sherman Easy 8 with very good armour , a long cannon and a 50 cal on top of it . Great for big tank engagements and sweeping off infantry . And if you support that with 3 or 4 rifle squads equipped with bazzokas , its a game winner .

Cromwell. The cheapness allows for really quick veterancy gain. It's pretty fast and good for crushing with decent penetration and reload.

While it may not be the all around best, I do have a soft spot for Comets. They are excellent team weapon killers and their only real downside is lowish pen for their high cost.

i like the cromwell too but you cant put a 50 cal or a bren on it .

I may not be objective casue I love Tigers but it has:
Good armor.
Great AI/AT gun.
Range.
Great vet 2.
Blitzkrieg.

If all around includes movement speed it will be comet or pershing. Still in most cases you would prefer KT over any other non specialised tank.
If price is taken into account then nothing compares to t-70, even the cromwell.

If I am permitted, I like to pick one tank per allie and one per axis.
Allie: Well that's a easy one, Sherman and variants. A true tank of all trades it's versatility is unmatch, good price and performance that can be modified for any role across all allies, I have no doubt that the Brits will receive a lends lease type commander in the future with these tanks eventually.
Axis: Panther a great generalist tank good armor, better gun then tiger and amazing speed with only real down side is it's anti infantry.

King TIger probably. It is expensive, but is a great tank.
Axis doesn't have the best AT options in the game

Can you pls explain, why in your opinion, Panther has a better gun than Tiger?
Is "generalist" as term reserved for units that can engage both AI and AT but does not excel at either?

Because sometimes the surrender function freezes so it's the next best way to surrender XD

OKW Panther.
Relatively cheap, good AI, great AT, fast, high armor, high health. IMO one of the most cost efficient tanks in the game.

Honesty? It's just matter of opinion, true that the only real Anti infantry weapon is the MG upgrade which equates to the killing power of a grendier mg upgrade, but it's Anti tank ability is just superb.
For me at least, when I pick the faction I also assumed the strategy and attitude of that army's use of weapons, for example as Germans every rifle squad (when possible) should have mg support. Thus particular case the Germans emphasis the use of tanks for the role of killing other tanks.
Where's the Americans used their tanks as support for infantry and leave the killing power to TDs or infantry.
Reason why I choose the Panter, against tanks it excels to even heavies like IS2s and Churchills with a better penetrating gun then the tiger.
