the same players who were (rightfully) complaining of demo charge cheese are now defending the goliath, which is an invisible mobile demo charge that spots for itself

If the goliath dies, it applies self_destruct_goliath_mp.txt doing 200damage.

Problem is, when you activate the ability it applies the same item one for the ability and one more time for the death of the unit. Intended or not ?



I've talked to the Designer and he's says its working as Intended. (supposed to do 400 damage) Thanks

On topic, Goliath is too powerful, it can withstand one shot from su76 and it's kinda overpowered. Cloaking is too powerful too, cus if u make swippers u don't have enough time to react and it can wipe your squad.


Zooks do more damage than SU-76 :foreveralone: Goliath gets killed by Zooks

So if Goliath's self spot then Demos should have a sight radius in the fog of war and be detonation at all times in the fog of war. Relics, we break our own fancy mechanics we made videos about at launch (true sight) because we want to.

Sorry but this is bull, abandoned vehicles have no crew and can't see, anything without a crew cannot see. If you drive your Goliath out of sight range it should stop and go Camouflaged till you can see it. Otherwise we are breaking game principles for now.

Just checked vCoH and it was the same, it could be spoted by infantry so I think it's not a bug.

Make the goliath slower and it will balance it.

passive cloak is ok-ish, what i'm not ok with is the speed of that devil combined with the passive cloak, either have one trait or the other, not both.

Either current speed plus active cloak (like USSR camouflage for Zis gun) or passive cloak but slower speed.

The Goliath is rubbish.

Never mind historical facts, let's look at it from a balance perspective.

It's a self-spotting, self-moving unit that costs only 100 munitions and NO population, which is the size of a satchel charge, but has enough firepower to put a walking stuka rocket barrage to shame.


It should not be self spotting, it's a machine, how does it see? does it have an onboard camera? Are there shrunken suicide bombers in them?

Also, camo, COME ON. Place it behind a crate and watch 3 rifle squads get wiped by its absurd payload. Ridiculous.

I said previously that I don't like demo-charges because I don't like invisible squad-wiping weapons, so I guess I'm obligated to say the same thing about the Goliath.

Still, also have to point out that the Goliath is locked behind a fairly mediocre doctrine, as opposed to being non-doctrinal. Honestly, once the new commander gets locked behind a paywall, I don't think you're going to see many Goliaths around.
