T-34-85 is underperforming

The T-34-85 has dreadful AI (same as 76mm version), okay-ish AT. Compare it with its closest counerpart, the M4C Sherman: good AI due to pintle MG, almost the same cost (5 more fuel), good AT with 1.5 better fire rate and same pen, doesn't need T4. Only drawback is less HP.

I believe the issue is with T-34-85's anti-infantry and teching costs. Its coaxial and hull MGs could be buffed to offer more consistent DPS, and T4 cost really should be reduced, and it is not an issue with the t-34-85 only. All of the T4 units are hindered by the teching cost (specifically, manpower), that's why T4 is almost never built.

Thoughts?

1.But T3485 has 800HP while M4C has 640, it means a lot.
2.T4 cost doesn't need to be touched. It's fine comepared to USF/OH tech cost.
3.TBH I feel all the medium call-ins should be locked at tech buildings. The M4C shouldn't be an exception.
4.T3 units are pretty good, that's why T4 is almost never built.

No. The reason that T4 is never built is that T4 is far far too expensive in manpower and fuel to an extent.

The t-34/76 is the worst medium tank in the game, and is locked behind so many tech structures that it isin't even funny.

Its the same problem with ost T4. Only difference is that once you get to OST 4, you actually get decent units like panther, pwerfer. Soviets get the crappy su-85, the mediocre katyusha, and the shitty t-34/76.

It wasn't nerfed directly but with the new changes that makes the squads to do not stack units close, every shot causes less kills on infantry.

The point I'm making is that a call-in unit with the same price performs significantly better than a doctrinal tier-locked unit, which is definitely not healthy. A 160 HP difference doesn't mean much when the tank just doesn't do enough damage until it needs to be repaired.

About T4, I think that SU85 and Katyusha are good enough options, they are just not worth it considering the heavy teching cost. Ost teching is very costly aswell, but Panther and Pwerfer are actually good, unlike the T-34 or T-34-85.

So being doctrinal eliminates for fair performance according to cost? Considering how much better a t34/85 is over a p4 for only 30 mp and 5 fuel, It performas just fine even in the cost efficiency department.

Panther isn't technically in the same tech level as the T-34/85 if we're looking at the EFA. Yes, we always nickname them T4, but Soviet T4 =/= Ostheer T4.

considering you now need to build the sov t3 to build the sov t4, the comparison is now justified.

I think the wehr t4 is more expensive, but the sov t4 is a lot weaker. The t34 76 have always been one of the weakest link for the soviet, alongside the penal.

The T-34/85's main gun is second only to the Sherman firing HE.

The t34/85 is fine its 85mm is very good when going against tigers and panthers when supported properly, maybe the only thing it needs is slight armor buff since it comes out so late and is so expansive to tech , but generally the tank its self is fine.

No it isn't Ostheer T4 costs drastically more then soviet T4. Soviet T4 cost pretty much the same as ostheer T3 which it is more similar to.

Soviet T4 may have it's problems, but pretending it's in any way similar ostheer T4 is just stupid.

Ost T4 is a 'bonus level' like British Hammer/Anvil, it's incomparable to Soviet T4 which is on the level of Ost T3 or British tank building.

Could need a little bit more pen... 160 pen on near and 120 on far is just too much rng for such a unit.

I mean ost t3 isn't that great. Ostwinds are kind of bad, p4s are mediocre at best. Stugs are about the only good unit for their price. Ost t3 is only good for rushing or keeping up pressure when you have the advantage in my opinion. I'd still much rather attempt to go t4 or t2 into tiger than have to go into ostheer t3.
