I'm blown away by the beauty of this new batch of maps. Cherry trees and sloping vinyards at Arnhem, massive industrial pipe structures and rusty run-offs at Gelsenkirchen, the huge shipbuilding yard at Hamburg... I see that so much work was put into making new buildings and interesting architectural elements for these maps. They also feel like WW2 and Germany under the grip of the National Socialists.

I was just in Munster and I was reading about the history of that area as a place where chemical weapons were developed and it's some gnarly stuff. Somehow the map at Gelsenkirchen evokes this kind of frightening factory where some nasty shit is being developed. Just a fantastic map. KUDOS to the designers.

Relic, who do we have to thank for these? I wish there were credits somewhere that said who worked on which maps.

Relic's Art team has always been excellent. The concept, the design, props, textures everything. In each and every one of their games, they give you the feeling and they truly make a great visual atmosphere.

I wonder which of the 4v4 maps will be available for automatch. Because you see... Lorch has 5 vp and some ruins like Esch-sur-sure, Hamburg made me remember winter city 17, with many points isolated on one piece of the map.

5 VP? That would actually make sense in 4v4 :).
Cool!

I dislike the maps. Some are nice from the optics, but clusterfuck and not much space. Atleast we can see that they invested a lot of time and did a good quality job. Still not my first choice

The map designs were one of the first things that struck me in the alpha - a real commitment by Relic to keeping the game interesting.

I agree with Ami that it would be great to see the artists accredited, It's a pity really, when you think M/s Pytlewski's buildings carry her stamp in CoH1.

I found myself trying to avoid knocking those cherry trees over with my tank! Makes no sense, but they look really nice and remind me of spring.

I have to say i only played one 1v1 map yet (Arnhem), but i think it looked gorgeous too. I liked the map design too. Pro playeers might disagree but i had fun. If i had a wish the texture of the ground seems a little weak but this is bitching on highest level. Thx relic.

Dusseldorf :foreveralone:
Pretty stalingrad version of 2v2 with central point church garrison resistant to nuclear explosions :foreveralone:
You won't be picking anything out of that building with normal nades/molos.

Lady Xenarra: Does anyone else think that USF needs buffs? It feels like they’re on life support sometimes
01 Apr 2025, 02:36 AM
Willy Pete: @Rosbone Ahh I missed that memo. I still think its a bad decision though. Adds frustration for players and isnt gonna make them that much money
27 Mar 2025, 15:46 PM
Rosbone: It is also good they left it free until after the free to play weekend. Points for that.
27 Mar 2025, 09:34 AM
Rosbone: But I agree, the cost to get a full decent Coh game pushing $115 US is not the best idea. Especially when it needs so much more work for casuals.
27 Mar 2025, 09:32 AM
Rosbone: To be fair, it was a thank you to early fans right? They said it was not free for long and it would become a pay DLC at some point.
27 Mar 2025, 09:30 AM
Willy Pete: Re-releasing free DLC so they can charge new players money for it. Brilliant marketing strategy

Soheil: Coh2 still broken server ?
25 Mar 2025, 18:27 PM
Rosbone: Congrats to Relic. Looks like Coh3 has finally usurped Coh2 s the popular Coh. You smell terrific. :snfQuinn:.
