i think if you work at relic you should have respect for the company to not "openly" badmouth your company. Even more so, if the company is in trouble. The critique is always the same: incompetent management, yada yada yada.
Does anybody really think, that problems get solved by openly shaming your company: "Thanks for making us look even bader in public and in front of SEGA, but we see clearly now and will change everything, because we are all idiots but you, dear employee. Before i forget it, we just raised your salary" - ridiculous.
Outsiders always find confirmed, what they "always knew"- microtransactions not enough e-sport support, not enough patches yada, yada, yada.
Everybody knows, that is not that easy.
Honestly i will buy and support relic as long as they release games. And even IF, they would close the doors, i probably still would play their games the next 15 years, as long as somebody is keeping the servers up. And if relic decides to develop a MOBA, i probably even play a friggin MOBA.
first of all, i did not watch the stream, but i do not doubt Hans´ migranes at the day for a second. Hans is a competitive guy for sure, but i he is a sportsman. To suggest otherwise is imho baseless and a bit silly tbh.
Are migranes more likely in stressful situations? Probably, but that is what a tournament is. There is a reason, why we are watchtig the games.
Lastly: It looks like VonIvan wins most of this anyway. He probably gets to travel to england now and plays live in a professional esports arena. This is a once in lifetime thing. Well Hans too, but Hans does not get the flight. For the live event it should be better too, because Hans and VonIvan are such well known streamer and Community favorites, so prob more people will travel to Leicester on Saturday.
So there is only one thing to hope, that hans is ready on Saturday to play.
for the few older community members who want to book flight and hotel in advance, could you tell us, where the event will happen so we can make travel arrangements?
great to see imperial dane as tournament caster and nice to have romeo back as well.
Their are cheap flights near to leicester from germnay so, i hope to see lots of german fans there. I think this will be great.
i think everybody is a valid point here. The most fun i will have watching a coh2 games is probably Devm against Barton. Devm Americans are so fun to watch it hurts.
Devm is right, that in a competition only the best should win, and it is not a sign of sportsmanship to make it more difficult for them to win.
On the other hand i understand the critiques, that in crowdfunding events the community has a right to "bitch" a little bit about felt "money grabbing" at least because not all donors are really e-sports fans, some just want to see the game thrive.
I think that A_E and Stormless solved this issue greatly (bigly?), everybody has to qualify over the ladder. Of course Devm will have no problem to get his spot, but he has to work for it and it and as a symbolic gesture it shows some "respect" for the casual playing community imho. Nice side effect we get more good games for casters because the top players have to automatch too and can not just practice in privat.
Best Regards

PS: Ami has a point too, we will see how it works out. From a pure E-sport point of view it is probably not the smartest way, but i understand this event more like a community-event of Esport and not like a pure Esport event.
PPS: Lets put all Coh2-Streamers, Coh2-Money Grabbers and Coh2-Trolls, plus more casual Coh2-Gamers in a room and see great and very fun games.
i just wanted to say that imho Halbe is one of the best coh2 maps of all time and i think it is on a level of Angoville and the like. Thank you for creating this great map.
i do not expect too much of DOW3. If it is dull i go back to coh2 and dow2 again very soon.
I preordered to show relic my undying support, because at the end of the day relics games ai enjoy mostly by far. My Space Marines will fight either way!
