such retarded logic. one squad is 400 mp the other 280. but im better of sending either 2 volks a fsj or a fusilier. they get the job done a lot better. im not arguing that obers are stronger. they are not worth getting for the price you are paying and are the moment the worst infantry in the game if you look on the stats. Their is no point in getting them.

if shocktroopers could not handle 2 volks you would be pissed , obers cannot handle 2 rifleman or even conscripts efficiently.


Well, if you look on the stats, you will se that Obers without LMG are stronger than Grens with LMG or quite similar.

Yes, exactly. A P4 beating an is2 is also crazy. So you must agree that simply attaching tech costs to unit cost is absurd.

Well if you on stats and mp then you will see that while obers are better grens outperform them because they are 45% cheaper. not to mention they have panzerfausts and riflesnades making them far more flexible then the obers.

Well they did absolutely nothing about American blobs in the same time which do also insane damage. People are just scared that OKW will struggle to keep up against them because OKW doesn't really have much to offer in terms of "combined arms". No medium tanks, no proper MGs (only doctrinal and weak MG34), no cheap mortar, no Snipers. All you have is your own infantry blob that got nerfed, the unreliable leIG (lets see about the buff), the Stuka which you cannot guarantee to hit, the unreliable Flak Halftrack that gets scared off by a single AT gun, and the probably best alternative the Luchs (which will have to be careful against AT still).

Personally I am not awfully scared. OKW still have good doctrinal infantry choices, some squad wipers got nerfed (although if that article on the site about the Greyhound and Motor Howitzer are analyzing the situation correctly it doesn't look like they got really nerfed even). The Raketenwerfer buff was one of the most needed changes for OKW. The problem is they do not seem to do much of what they promise to improve blob counters / punish blobbing, especially not against USF, they only nerfed some OKW units and thus their blobs.


Honestly, OKW has no problem dealing with USF blobs (Kubel handles them well, doctrinal MG-34s). Don't forget, USF player needs muni and fuel to upgrade either LMG or Bazookas thus delaying teching and muni for abilities/nades. The problem with OKW blobs was they were too efficient as Shrek countered medium armor and Obers raped all infantry (no fuel teching + free LMG).

I think we all need to wait and see how the patch really is. I really don't think Ober nerf will hamper OKW as a army. I will pick Falls over Obers as a personal choice.

Look into stats friend since we are talking about stats :)

Or try to use for example Terror Officer unit. Whole squad is made from Officer and 3 Obers.
And those 3 Obers can do the job. 15-30kills is something normal for them.

Is this thread for real? Patch is not even online and you know Obers are nerfed into the ground?

Obers even without LMGs are very good. Try terror officer with 3 Obers around officer.

Also keep in mind insane vet 5.
Axis players... they always forget the vet 5.

Kübelwagen does fine in the early game, but the blobs become scary in the later stages of the game when Veterancy, upgrades and Paratroopers come into play. At that point the Kübelwagen is obsolete.

But yeah as I say, I will wait for the patch first and I am not too worried anyway, I did not rely heavily on Obersoldaten in the first place. Although I may spend more time with Ostheer again to try their changes.

See? That's the problem. There is no reason to go for Obers because you can get a better preforming infantry unit with out having to rush a Schwer out. JLI and Fallsch can both come from buildings, and Panzerfuss are an excellent long range DPS squad to compliment your Sturms and Volks.


The nerf should have come with a price decrease. Not to mention the idiocy of nerfing the OKW blob and then refusing to look at Para 1919's or Rifle 1919's, since Infantry Company is basically the best/second best USF doctrine now.

No worries OKW players, you still have scavenge doc with elite infantry and Ostwinds who perform really well vs inf. Just spam alot of infantry, tech to puma only, you don't have to have mapcontroll all game. Then call in an ostwind, wich OKW can call in because even without fuel income they can skip tech and carry with infantry.

Then spam 2-3 rakketten, destroying US tanks in 2 volleys without even shreck support. Then finish them off with Ostwind cause it can pen tanks reliable.

After that just watch the opponent rage because he outplayed you all game and only because of faction design you won.

See? you don't even need Obers, welcome to COH2.

Its not me who started with retarded logic and said that 400mp unit will loose to 280mp unit of similar damage profile and overall lower survivability.

If you go full retard, don't expect smart answers.

If you don't consider them worth getting, then don't get them. You have many alternatives. If you're busy spamming shreckvolks, avoid obers.

Shocks are close range specialists, volks are not.
Can you guess what will happen if you put shocks at range 30 vs volks?
You gave example so shitty that it doesn't even take effort to counter it.

That obers need to pay ammo for their lmg's is something i approve of. but now they need to be reduced to 300/280 mp/

And what part of their package are we taking away together with that to keep the relative cost effectiveness same as it is right now for other infantry squads?
Build in 100% greater Kar98 accuracy then grens or 0.7 rec acc by default?

The OKW Ostwind comes in waaay to late to be very useful. It's the same reason why the PIV Battle Group is never used. 8-9 CP is way to late for mediums on the Axis side of things because by then a large amount of AT is on the field and to resist it you need things like the Tiger/Panther.

OKW can't really skip teching, you need your first truck to get Shreks and your the Schwer to get any kind of armor out on the field lest you want to be crushed to death by mediums and or have no way of assaulting enemy fortified positions.

Durability wise, they are almost as durable as 6 grens againts small arms.

Considering 4 gren models cost 240, 6 grens would cost 360.

Surely the best LMG in the game + booby traps + 2 very strong grenades makes up for that 40mp cost right?


You were right when talking about Obers with lmg, a lot of players fail to mention that obers start with 0.7 incoming accuracy bonus off the bat.

Alex was spreading misinformation in regards to obers with lmg being no better than vanilla rifles.

Going head to head the numbers are:

141% dps of rifles at close range [396 MP equivalent of rifles],
254% at mid range [711 MP of rifles],
441% at far range [1235 MP of rifles],

The fact of the matter is rifles coming at obers in green cover will still be sent packing. You just can't attack move across a road anymore and expect to take no casualties with obers. You can't argue with those numbers God knows what they were before.
