Interesting.
Didn't play them yet but at first look soviet commander appears to be better.

By the way does anyone know what plane delivers the the fuel. It looks kind of like a B17.

Impossible. The description says "The cargo plane is highly vulnerable to anti-air units" which alone eliminates any American bomber. I doubt it's anything, just a plane.

Counterattack tactics costs 45 ammo to activate and lasts 60 seconds )=
Probably still usefull after you won an engagement and want to cap the shit out of the map.

I am not sure if Ostruppen are worth it, even if you get super lucky with double vet 3 and weopons. You could build 2 grens for 480 mp instead of 500. Plus the grens can then gain vet themselfs and be given weopons. Btw, how is the combat value of grens vs Osttruppen?

I was underwhelmed by the Ostruppen = my 500mp bought me two squads, no extra weapons, 1 x Vet 0 1 x Vet 2.

I'd rather have had two vanilla Grens, tbh. I understand it's a roll of the dice, but not one I'll be making lightly.

I don't think that the new German commander is very good. Sure playing a puma is interesting (nostalgia!) but it comes way too late and is way too fragile. Osttruppen is way too RNG and I don't want to spend 500 MP just for rolling the dice.

New German commander is very situational, you can miss a tier in the right circumstances perhaps (for me prolly T3) relying on Puma and PzGrens for AT depending on map control and fuel. The command tank is golden with a heavy T1/ T2 build IMO.

The new Sov commander appears to be better but, again, situational. Which is as it should be. I'm looking forward to see what the top players do with these commanders.

And how many times you've tried that?

On my 2nd call-in they went out with 2 vet2 squads with 2 LMG42s.

But yes, its a diceroll skill, just like fuel for soviets, it can get you 20 fuel, it can give you 40(30 is slightly below cost effectiveness if we compare to other similar skills).

They still drop like flies even at Vet2. I'd rather use them to reinforce weapons or paks but you usually don't have 500MP to spend for this.

I'm happy with both commanders. Lend Lease is a great addition for T4 play, giving both a HT and an all round tank to fill the gaps. The German one feels overall less focused on supporting any special tier, yet the puma works great on certain maps. It's mobility and range are it's strength. Command tank and Osttruppen Call-In are meh in my opinion - not good, but also not bad. Panzer Tactician is useful, especially with the new tank combat and counterattack tactics works nicely in combination with the Osttruppen. Their low upkeep makes them (sometimes) quite useful :p

If you wonder why these units - Western Fronts expansion is coming and probably contains those new units. Creating new commanders when all the abilities already exist is probably rather cheap and helps to 'hype' and 'advertise' the expansion. Relic gains advertisement by offering a glimpse of new units, community gains two new commanders, everybody wins. Except certain people here who always complain. :s

I´ve been using constantly the Osstruppen call in and i would say it´s somehow like:
15% lmg and 40% vet0 - 35vet 1 - 20% vet 2 - 5% vet 3 (or i might be wrong and it was vet2).

Real numbers would be greatly appreciated

Useful when using support weapons and as meatshield of LMG grens.

For teamgames, the Puma might be useful to soften the transition between T2 and T4. Puma + Shreck/Pak can easily deal with M5/T70 or first T34. Same can be said from anything from T4.
On 1v1 it´s something "different" to play around. You could try using just T1+T2 and Puma-Command Tank. (IS2 will fuck you up nevertheless)

Ostruppen_reserves (Yes, it's once again spelled wrong. Get the pitchforks and torches, we gotta burn down Relic!)

Veterancy:
50% chance vet 0
25% chance vet 1
15% chance vet 2
10% chance vet 3

Weapons:
80% chance basic weapons
20% chance one grenadier LMG42

Someone feel free to calculate all the possibilities for two squads. That's too much of a hassle :p

So, most of the time you will loose 100 menpower on the call-in unless you hit jackpot.

Not really hard, since at close range it has 160 penetration.

Are the Guards you get in the M5 w Lend/Lease commander the same as regular Guards? I couldn't seem to upgrade them to DP-28s. Anybody know?

Those Guard Assault squad you get are equipped with 4 PPSh SMG's and 2 SVT-40 rifles i believe. No PTRS, no button, They are basically a .. worser shock troop squad?

So far from my 15-16 hour streaming session ive concluded in my opinion that the Puma needs a health decrease, and the StuG(Long Barrel) is waaay too god vs AI & AT for its price.

They are equipped with 4 PPSH's and 2 PTRS rifles.. they are unable to get DP's..

Their vet 1 ability isnt the flare mine, its a suppression ability that targets one squad infantry squad for 15 munis..

No PTRS rifles, thats a lazy mistake on Relic's side. Hover over the M5 call in ability in-game.
