If you really believe radio intercept is the reason why you're loosing, then you're up for a big surprise. Its not and you probably would loose anyway.

Take your soviet apparatchik bullshit somewhere else kaitof, if you don't think that being able to pre-empt the opponent's strategy at the very beginning of the game is a significant advantage then your ignorance truly knows no bounds.

You know Radio Intercept tells you where the Germans build mines and bunkers right?

Yes, I know.
And?
Interrogation tells you everything, what units are where, what tiers are being built and it comes with best long range upgrade.

If it was fine with partisans and armored assault, then its fine with SAW as well.

It feels like if the game was perfectly balanced people would still come up with stuff like that only for the sake of nerfing something on the other faction.

And this is this kind of thread.

This commander's abilities overall blend perfectly. Take one of them out and it will succumb.

I'm not a fan of the state-sponsored maphacks. I could never imagine allowing such an ability in a tournament environment. I've been playing this commander, and I have to say that knowing everything your opponent builds and EXACTLY where he places mines is a bit ridiculous and feels like cheating. Just knowing the MG timing makes predicting where it will go and how to flank it extremely easy.

I agree.

How about if you would have to pay something like 50munis to get that info for 3 minutes ? and maybe even alert the opponent that the enemy is using the ability, because right now, there is no counter to this.

About the commander, I do find that it's the best commander overall. All the abilities are useful and worth their price. All other commanders have abilities that are either useless depending on the game you are playing or overpriced.

The commander is fine.

Radio intercept is nothing new and neither is the concept of legal map hacking. Radio intercept, spy network and interrogation training all provide intel on enemy activity.

PPSH guns are good, but the doctrine lacks other elite infantry. There will be no dedicated AI assault infantry on the field other than T1 units, and there will be no infantry based AT-support other than field guns. As a kind reminder to the germans, grenadiers have a stock weapon upgrade which is more powerful than the ppsh upgrade. They also always have access to panzergrenadiers which can perform as both AI assault infantry and infantry based AT support.

Conscript repair is also nothing new and is not something that was ever considered OP. It's a nice ability which gives you a decent bonus but is nothing special. Just like hit the dirt, panzer tactician, spotting scopes, etc.

The T34/85 is a P4 painted green. Whoop-te-do. If you can't deal with this unit with all the powerful german AT-options then you might have to look at your strategy.

The single IL-2 strafe is 'OK' at best. 2 mines will likely do more damage for a cheaper price. Out of all the soviet off-maps this one ranks very low.

Looking at soviets units and doctrines, you have to be pretty terrible to lose to Germany.

T-34/85 doesn't have the front armor stats compared to the Panzer IV. It still needs to flank P4s, while P4s can pen it from the front.

This doctrine gives them a mid game tank that allows them to stand up the germans toe to toe.

Looking at german default units, its a matter of skill mostly, unless you're stuck in denial.

Radio intercept: just needs to either make mine alert dissapear or hide the pinpoint on the minimap.

Instead of the so call nerfs, why dont we just improve the other commanders?

Radio intercept aside because that's a whole other topic, the doctrine is good. Very good. Perhaps too good.

But not because it's inherently overpowered. It's because as has been discussed here to death, most other doctrines are fairly lousy or gimmicky. This is one doctrine where every ability is useful in a general sense instead of a specialist sense. This doctrine is basically the Infantry doctrine from vCoH where it shines at all phases in the game and everything has a place.

I will always upgrade cons to ppsh, I will always therefore be fielding 4-5 cons so conscript repair is good synergy, radio intercept is passive useful, t34/85 callin means I don't need T3 for good medium tanks and can very safely go T4 if my radio intercept detects incoming armor, and the strafe is decent spammable harassment (even if its damage seems extremely random now).

Basically if I could build my own doctrine, it would look just like this. I might replace nerf strafe with incendiary barrage, but otherwise it's basically right.

I agree that fixing other commanders is probably the better option. This commander is basically what other commanders should be.

I'll ask this question again.
How's Radio interception consider being OP and Interrogation techniques, which is by far more potent ability, is not?

Yes, you can say Interrogation is a bit harder to use but German players got only themselves to blame if they're not using it. The ability is there and it shows you litteraly everything.

Radio intercept should not work on mines. That's the only thing I would change about this doctrine. I actually find playing soviets to be much harder after this patch.

I agree with this. And should add that radio intercept pinpointing locations of mines and bunkers is rather silly and should be removed, I am fine with it calling them out though.

I think the commander system in general is very problematic... but that has been discussed to the ground already; but the fact that one commander having synergy in its skills is such a huge problem is just a proof of it.

Pretty easily. The biggest points are:

- 0cp vs 3cp
- Free vs 60 muni upgrade (can be lost if squad dies but increases combat effective so comes out in the wash)
- Always active vs activated ability requiring an RNG event to happen near your G43 squad that lasts a few seconds for maphack that lasts a few seconds.

As has been pointed out in other threads, parts of the "maphack" part of G43 is actually available intuitively via radio intercept. If I see where your first Gren squad spawns, I have a very good idea where you're going. I can see where your mines go down so I know where you're holing up and where you hope to blunt a flank.

You mean "WHEN" not "where" right? So?
And radio intercept does not give you any info on weapon upgrade, so seeing FHT or LMG's and semi-automatic rifles is still a surprise.

You're paying for weapon upgrade. You get this ability as a bonus. It comes at 3CP because of the weapon upgrade.
You have chance to use it after each engagement. If you don't do it it's your own fault.
It shows EVERYTHING on the map for couple of seconds. You'll be able to gain this Intel after next fight as there are always some wounded models on the ground. Again if you don't it's your own fault.
Lastely I can tell when my opponent is going without Radio intercept based on the map I can roughly say what's going to build seeing his initial units composition as well.
