Smoke Bombs

The ability to drop smoke bombs by plane on the field, to cover a retreat or to steal weapons in the middle of a fight for example, is great but I feel it could be improved. Right now the plane will always follow a simple line, from the HQ to the area selected. Most of the times it will not work very well because of the always horizontal or vertical line on certain maps which depends of were your HQ is on the map. A simple thing to improve it will be to select a path for the plane to make the smoke bombs run more effective, like in Dawn of War 2 for some artillery strikes. The incendiary bombing run from the Lutwaffe commander could also benefit from the ability to select a path. What are your thoughts about it

Agreed. That is also how strafe, recon run, and bombing run all worked in COH1.

Supported, and in various forms asked for sice beta. Would be great if it could be implemented.

Definately. I'd love to see more e-sport smoke. Maybe make the drop a bit quicker aswell?

The delay is really annoying. Agree with cata

Annoying delay and sometimes useless smoke screen and wasted ammo due to the reasons that OP wrote.

I agree too.

I agree that this ability is stupid as it is right now, but not sure how to buff it. Certainly as it stands it needs to have a price reduction.

Possibly make it so plane can drop smoke into fog of war?

In my opinion 50 munition is perfect for such ability, the sole issue is that we can't use it at its full potential most of the times right now.

Agreed. Selecting a path would be better.

Quicker e-sport smoke wouldn't hurt either - currently it's not very useful as a get-out-of-jail tool in sticky situations.

+1 for more control on where the drop lands, perhaps in exchange for the amount of smoke.

-1 on faster drop, I think predicting and reacting is a worthy skill to have.

P.S. and what is with this cheap e-sport bs people use to support their arguments? Tune it down, it's like 3rd time i run into it today... new meme?

In some maps you need to know 15-20 seconds in advance that you will need smoke, which makes it offensive only ability. It can cover your push, but it will never be on time when you need to back off.
