brits balanced vs snipers?
USA at least can get fast M20, maybe jeep with doctrine, but what is most important, USA infantry reinforce is much lower
Well maybe we didnt understand each other, I didnt mean they are ballanced, just like usf is not. I just was explaining the idea behind such "ballance". |
From my experience brits are ballanced vs snipers the same way as usf, they have a light unit (flamer UC like m-20) that kills it easily. Only problem is that on highest level its obviously more a soft counter than a hard counter and it is also quickly countered by heavier vehicles.
I also agree in terms of early economy: IS is too expensive, if they fix the range bug vickers will be too expensive too. As for sniper it should just get a range of buffs concerned about cloaking.
I dont agree in terms of armour. I usually go cromwell first and then the comet and it is the perfect combo, cromwell is efective against every target with long window of opportunity and then its still effective vs infantry. It is also easily rushed if you avoid AEC and bofors.
But there is also one greatly important matter: to learn to play brits it to learn to use emplacements successfully. Even in 1v1 as that is where real OP of the faction is hidden. And you can use them while rushing tanks as mortar pit has no fuel cost and 17-pounder is best build after cromwell and comet hit the field. Mortar pit is best for securing important section of the map as it multiplies firepower in long fights that ISs tend to couse and vs okw trucks with of without the help of base artillery and early cromwell. 17-pounder on the other side is extremly potent vs tanks that are the doom of usf: tiger ace and king tiger. It smashes them as fast as normal at gun does with a puma. Its also very important to move your engies or other infantry from one pit to another to maximise its firepower while it is most needed. |
Why is 4 weeks too soon? Surely a "pro" player worthy of seeding could find the time for a 20 minute game every four weeks.
Ami is running a 200+ player tournament right now. That itself imposes that at least some of the players will be out of top 200 while there is no more than 50 'pro' players in the community. That way most of the players will undoubtly have a whole army of zeros in their 1v1 stats.
It's also worth remembering that we had several month long periods without the patch in coh2. This will surely also happen in the future as game will be getting older and older. That means stale meta for much more than 4 weeks. Once sb learns the meta and new unit stats and uses there is no need to wipe the data about his rank as these data are perfectly valid. I understand that it may not be true for lets say top 20, but other than that it surely is. |
You will still have your ranks when you play a single game after being removed for a month of inactivity. It isn't like all your history resets when you get temporarily hidden!
I used to choose to play the faction I have worst rank with in 1v1s. I also used to play other game modes than 1v1 only occasionally, still I always liked to see my rank growing with every random I play. That means I need to know my own rank or elo. Are you telling me that I should note or screenshot them couse relic ladder system won't show it to me?
Also as far I understand the word 'decay' the new system changes your elo when you are not playing. |
Well in my opininon this is very bad idea. It makes ladder available only for ppl who do nothing more than playing coh2. And it couses the ladder to change drasticly making it hard to tell who is a better player.
For most players a month without coh2 is sth they can come back from in one match because they play ocasionally so they dont even rise their skill to dbmbs level. Still it was cool to find yourself in a ladder.
Now, for me, it is like they removed the ladder completly as numbars that I can see there tell nothing as they change so fast and I'am only able to keep up with 'refreshing' the ladder because I'm on holidays. There will be no chance when I come back to work: like zeroes everywhere, what is even the point of the ladder then?
This is dissappointing to an extend that I belive it will totally block new players from climbing up ladder and becoming top players, ofc thats only my opinion, but relic should think about it, especially as their game is adressed to mature ppl who have work and life apart from the game.
If I knew this is going to be as punishing and stupid as it is became I wouldn't buy brits as it looks like I will probably stop playing the game even semi-regularly after OCF. And I'm one of this guys that loved the game no matter how bad ballance was before, now its just not rewarding any more.
If there has to be such system I would rather set values to half a year for zeroing and full year for vanishing instead of current 2/4 weeks. |
While they could only nerf him vs Brits, I don't see why Brits need to cost 280 per squad anyway. Why not 245 - 260?
Yeah, 260 would be much more approperiate, same for vickers mg, it is same in performance as mg42, why is it more expensive? Right now brits saving grace are few OP units but these are going to be nerfed soon for sure so they need solid backbone. |
Seriously though, if you put your sound settings to Medium the bug stops. Relic told us this in the Alpha forums but for some odd reason didn't make it public. I haven't had it since I switched and don't notice any difference in sound quality.
They made it public on one of the streams. Sb asked about soundbug and Cynthia advised to change settings to medium. She also said that they are continously looking into it.

What is that pudding about your ranks decaying after not playing for 2 weeks? What kind of madness is this? I'm sure every player happened to have a 2 week or longer break from the game and everybody likes the fact that their ranks stayed where they were after it. I love this game but I hate games that try to addict you even more.
Sometimes you just need to work, play another game for a while or even go on holidays... |
In fact ballance is better than ever.
Ostheer has ofc one more squad and it helps them equalise early game disadvantage but they are also forced to make early pak or 1-2 222s to counter allied early vehicles. In case of pak its a unit that is necessery but doeasnt help in most early engagement, in case of 222s it's a unit that has problem to scare off anything else than maxim and is very hard to keep or scale into late game (unless you have certain non-meta commanders).
Soviets are at last interesting. Most their units are ballanced, maybe the m3 is a little too powerfull but thats just a thing of making upgrade more costly. Howitzers are more of a problem, they need scatter increase. Solid faction after all.
Okw is fine but aaht should get armour increase not to die like a fly to M5. They basically have all tools they need just this one unit is underwhelming. Camo raketens do wonders but I would love if their crew stopped shooting after prioritise vehicles is turned on.
USF, well its not as bad as ppl tend to think. Its simply not OP with its 10 minute sherman any more. On the other hand with cpt buff it has all tools to win in any 1v1 battle condition. Against mg42s? Tech nades. Against sniper? Tech LT. Against anything else? Tech CPT. Then you can safely go for armour doctrine callins and gg. Actually, that doctrine needs a nerf. Recon and mechanised could use a buff on the other hand and *puff* you have a ballanced cool faction. |
Tick options would be great but then you should also be able to choose vetos in your leadout. That way you would not find yourself with ostheer on stalingrad just because you used random search. It would also make changing vetoes much faster. |
