Add to that, if the Tiger was so oppressive, how comes Pershing, with it's higher anti infantry performance, coupled with better infantry support, was not? A big think moment indeed...
If you were reading patch notes you wouldn't have to sweat these two poor neurons as everything was explained there.
And before you overheat:
Its because pershing is still least durable one, doesn't have amazing AT like tiger and is supposed to be best against infantry out of generalist limited heavies.
All of those are correct I agree. But they are not giving the full picture because this is simply a 1v1 comparison and not a faction comparison. Both OKW and OST has nothing better than their AT guns to counter the IS-2 compared to super effective SU-85. Thus even Tiger was better on paper it was overshadowed by IS-2 IMO.
(I know StuG and JP4 exists but they either lack the range or penetration or both)
I must've missed the change where they have removed panthers from the game, could you point it out to me? |
That's the whole point of the current implementation - it was made more accessible, but it doesn't invalidates certain units before they are even built as it used to back in the day.
Units you've mentioned, except SU-76 already have 2-3 minute window of opportunity and puma hardcounters them badly, so it can't arrive the moment they do, but you can use it when you're behind against meds(after you've lost your fuel for bit too long) or later after the lights.
Yes, OKW one arrives faster, but OKW gives up healing and is itself reliant on aggressive play, so it will never come out before P2. |
Actually the dominant heavy was IS-2 and the reason of Tiger meta was IS-2. Yet Tiger got the harder beating in the patch.
Tiger was capable of beating IS-2 even before armor nerf and was much more oppressive against infantry with longer base range, faster RoF and scatter reduction vet on top of already low scatter and large AoE.
Tiger was dominant, because it was batshit insane. |
What ? u mean like OST ? and OKW ?
OH NOOOO how bad ... not like OKW who have to choose between a light vehilce phase and normal healing...
to get out a first Tank and not be pushed off US double gunned rifles...
That shot of yours scattered so far away form the target, it didn't even land on the same map.
I don't know if anyone else is capable of misunderstanding something so badly here and there are some very serious contestants here. |
A miracle unit effective against everything is no longer a miracle unit effective against everything.
Time to remember other units exist, hopefully heavy meta is dead now. |
Only if you are progressively sticking to what's op instead of balanced. |
And I am explaining to you that armor is core mechanism of the game. Giving a stock unit making a stock TDs have 100% to hit and penetrate from 60 all Ostheer units is the equivalent of removing that mechanism.
Pls stop personal comments they are non constructive.
Snipers and flamers don't seem to care much about units received accuracy and they seem to do fine. |
Literally no one will miss heavy tank meta.
They should NEVER be the end of it all option and they clearly outperformed everything, being almost the best AI vehicle while having DPM and penetration of tank destroyers, Tiger being biggest offender here. |
Ah, the classic "you don't agree with me, therefore you are troll", I was wondering why it took so long.
Also, unit being used in all game modes isn't exactly good argument when claiming its op, otherwise all mainlines are op.
If you can use multiple manpower expensive indirect fire units, it means opponent camps so hard its needed or opponent isn't aggressive enough/easy to fend off to allow to pressure him from distance.
Indirect fire and arty was addressed in previous patches, pack howi being unchanged should be an indicator of its intended performance, which is in line with its cost and timing. |
It also costs a tiny fraction of their cost, especially in fuel, so not a problem. |
