Remember that 3% mid-close range buff where everyone spelled doom and gloom when it hit, problaiming USF a faction of literal T-1000 terminators? But the issue is not how they compare with CE. They issue is that is extremely difficult to gain veterancy with pioneers. And pios are excellent in spotting for and recrewing ATGs and HMGs. Both are good in the context of their respective army and supporting it. Veterancy isn't pio exclusive problem - have you ever tries to vet up CE in late game? I've already suggested what can be done to address both in a balanced manner that puts emphasis on them supporting armies, not being armies by themselves. In: COH2 Balance

Stormjäger I'm not sure what Ostheer is supposed to do to protect the artillery. The same thing soviets do to protect theirs from stuka dive bomb. I was thinking of spam merge into gaurds or shockies in 2v2 thus lowering the man-power bleed...haha A cheese tactic indeed ) Its not cheese at all, its very much intended use of merge. Also, don't really use it to "save on reinforcement", but more to either keep the squad on field, allowing it to vet fast and be constant threat at high menpower or to get it back on field instantly when there would already be healthy con at base ready to merge(just don't keep one there permanently). There was long time ago a meta of 2 cons 2 penals, where you would use cons to keep penals on field all the time as penals themselves aren't exactly durable with low rec acc vet. In: COH2 Balance
