Or why not both. Isu has to decide which ammo to fire
It's not that big of a deal really. The problem was (and still is) accuracy and damage against infantry. Reduce the AoE and increase the scatter. |
what? It has 85 range and impenetrable armor if you can't use that to your advantage its a l2p issue
Well you are correct about the range and the armor, but I think A panther and another vehicle (depending on the enemy) suites me better, or even 2 panthers if I don't have to rush for a puma or a Luchs. Oh and keep in mind that I was talking about 1v1 and 2v2s (smaller maps and flanking everything). But in larger games your point is valid. |
Well it was kinda OP, and Relic took out the unfair aspect out of it. Not sure why you want to add something to it as compensation
It's not about compensating, it's about making it worth calling. Back then JT could counter everything (which was OP) but right now there is no point calling it. I meant it needs more tweaks to be worth investing for. For example, increase the movement speed but reduce the range and price . This way you gotta move it to the front line and risk getting flanked if you want the huge damage. I want it to be interesting, not OP. |

It was a great change, but the unit is still over performing. I have tested it in like 6 games post patch and it's not that hard to switch the ammo when facing different targets. Its accuracy against infantry is still too high and a lot of insta-wipes happen. Personally I didn't have problem with it being an Anti-Everything unit. The only thing that bugged me (and still does) is the no warning insta-wipes. I think either the accuracy or the AoE should get nerfed. With the new cover system (which is great) Axis have hard time playing late game. |
It was a good change, but now it does not perform very well. I think it should have a slight price reduction. The damage and the range are still solid but I think it should get something in return. Even a slight movement speed increase is good. |
DAT PAINT THO.
There was also a spray paint in the patch preview which raised a lot of questions. |
The ISU-152 is still as broken as before, as it still self-spots and one-shots entire squads (reliably so thanks to the new cover mechanics) out of the fog of war.
(And on first glance, an 11 second timer for the shell switching ability doesn't really seem all that long, but I could be wrong there; still need to test this.)
I have tested it, and if you support your ISU with a few squads and one ATG, Nothing is really changed. Although the change is good, but there should be more tweaks. |
ISU HE shots still insta-wipe squads (but that come pretty late). T70 does wonders if microd well. Also hiding your shocks and using TruSight is effective.
Do not forget Demo charges and Cons vet 1 ability (can't remember the name. It's cheap and kills 1 model and give you map awareness so you can coordinate your shocks.
120mm mortar is also great but very RNG dependent.
If you chose a commander with good late game units (ISU/IS2/T34/85) consider bringing 1 (or even 2 in a team game when your ally can support you) Katyushas. Super effective.
Maxim is great but a gren blob can wipe it with 2 Rifle-grenades. |
Still think ISU is too accurate vs infantry.
True that. I have used ISU in every single game post-patch, and I have to say the change is great but every HE shot wipes at least 3 models and the amount of insta-wipes is too damn high (specially after the changes in the cover system). This change is in the right direction, but they should nerf either accuracy or damage/AoE. |
I have not watched the replay yet, but when you see Ubers, you go Scott. I know the feeling of having the upper hand, yet losing the game. |
