There was deflection damage in vCoH. They should implement this in game, but not so radical. For example something like 10% of the base damage. This way AT units like bazooka or 45mm will do small damage and can not be ignored even by heavy tanks, but they only become critical if you let your unit stay under fire. |
Raketenwerfer is the weakest, least accurate and most fragile AT unit. It is even terrible against early game vehicles (because of low accuracy and small target size of those vehicles). It also has less range. You can not compare them to ATGs. |
Right, so time to set this thread forward:
It does not matter what RTS you are playing, APM is an impact characteristic of game play, However there is no direct correlation between APM and balance unless the discrepancy between two factions is extreme and commonly viewed. Back in the days when Replay analyzer worked, I did a short study on my own about APM to better improve my game play. I down loaded many replays and looked at all of my own. What I saw was the better players tend to have a higher APM (that is pretty normal) but they were not too much higher than average or above average players.
Now on to other things; Coh2 does not prioritize APM as a direct game impact. What I mean by Prioritize is that you cannot win a coh2 game on apm. In Statecraft II the lower level players are just learning builds, unit comps, and building their apm. The best plan in the world will not see you to victory if your opponent doubles your apm and just simply out tasks you. In coh2 that is not the case. add all the APM you want, walking into an ambush due to the true line of sight and you'll still loose. This is not to say that APM does not matter, surely it dictates multi tasking and grenade dodging as well as other factors. But where SC II you can look up a build on the internet and roll some one just by having 200 apm due to the cook book nature of SCII, in coh2 you'll die to a better positioned army and unit comp because game sense and positioning is weighted far more in quality of players.
my point is that while apm is important, there are other traits of this game that matter more in determining victory, and though it is important from what I saw there was not a drastic difference between axis and allies in APM. It was actually pretty random.
'Nough said. |
I don't agree with the "munition sink" idea, but I totally agree that the volks blob is an issue, and that's because it's so effective. Giving OKW other options and more versatility on their line infantry is a good idea, gives players more options and makes the game more fun.
The idea of some kind of "AI Combat package" is great (just like good ol' volks from vCoH), but this might turn into somthing else. People start blobbing Volks instead of Ubers because they are so effective. And besides, I know you just gave and example, but the weapon selection you mentioned is wrong IMO. MP40s are completely useless, and 1 LMG plus 2 assault rifles might make them too powerful in all ranges, specially in higher vets when they actually can not be killed. I think it's better to give them a package like "5xMP40s" or "3xSTG44s" might be a better idea, to make them some kind of flanking infantry to be able to both clear buildings and countering team weapons. |
The sound team is the only department at Relic that have consistently done an outstanding job on all of their games. From SFX to Voice work to soundtracks, soundtracks most of the time have been outsourced to contracted composers but I digress.
I really have no problem with the sound scape they have created for this game.
This. For every single game they make, the audio is outstanding. Unit chatter, dialogues, ambient, everything. |
My opening post is certainly not a rant. A rant would be characterized by hyperbole, overuse of caps, off-topic mentions of unrelated other problems in the game, and a total lack of useful suggestions.
This was freaking hilarious. |
Right. I think armor reduction is a better choice as you said. |
Be careful guys, these might be region restricted, I got screwed once by these. Steam takes this kind of deals seriously. I'm not saying it's scam or anything, but if it's region locked, your game is pretty much useless. I know you probably know this, but some of these sites claim that their game is not region locked, but it is. |
I agree, these are "experience problems" (AKA L2P). Luckily we have the glorious observer mode, watch a couple of high rank games and you'll see how to perform and counter different strategies. |
I like the idea of spamming them the way you like (unlike S-mine) but they are unreliable and you can't be sure if your flank is secure or not. |
