Replace SVT with some kind of close combat version of Mosin-Nagant
0,7 received damage
0,8 received suppression
If one model dies, activating 2-4 sec speed buff. If two models dies buffs stack. If 5/6 of squad wiped, last man run like his life depends on it!
Penals weren't really suicide units, they were just not cared for. As such, they were generally sent to portions of the front that were predicted to have heavy casualties. The idea that they were used to clear minefields probably stems from Soviet Commanders making them attack mined flanks, because casualty projections from the mines were less than attacking the defences head-on. |

No you're correct, he posted that the Min and Max values were switched, so instead of being 1-3 seconds between shells, it's always 3 seconds.
Also once I tried to stack Pathfinder and Major artillery on an OKW Flak HQ, only to find it survived with 1/3 health. I thought I was being clever, but all I did was waste all my munitions |
I think Stuart could vs 2x 222 and win.2cm cannons don't pen Stuart very well at all
Did some quick unit vs unit tests. Stuart definately beats a pair of 222's, T-70 can go either way. 3 M3 Scout Cars or WC 51's beats a single 222, but just 2 will lose to a 222. An M8 may lose, but with skirts it's an effortless victory.
Overall, the 222 could use a 5-10 fuel increase, but otherwise this change is very good. |
I've always appreciated the way coh2 is balanced without resorting to 'target tables'. I guess if PTRS bonus damage is the only way to achieve desired results then everyone will support this change... but I don't think possibilities were exhausted tweaking accuracy values yet. Last time it had an incredibly massive accuracy buff which is why it's such a strong AI weapon. Surely backing off accuracy a little could have been the first step, without significantly harming AT performance. We haven't seen a middle-ground value in live yet. Perhaps it was tried in Alpha?
Lowering accuracy just makes the weapon less consistent. You would get instances where it kills an enemy in 2 seconds, and instances where it kills one in 10 seconds. Consistency is important, and Relic is on the right track with this change.
Another thing, Target Tables are bad for when the PTRS does more damage against Panzerfusiliers but less against Grenadiers. However doing more damage to Vehicles and less to Infantry is not a bad thing, as Infantry and Vehicles are both very different from each other. |
Actually, I was thinking about keeping doctrinal ppshs the same, and letting them stack. That way, players with specific doctrines could get more ppshs on their squads, but that may be op.
Huh, makes me think, maybe a global PPSh upgrade 2-3 per squad. Keep PPSh in doctrine and let them stack, but make Doctrine PPSh also give F1 Grenades (takes Molo slot). Then players can choose to:
- Get non-doctrine PPSh upgrade
- Upgrade each squad individually with doctrine
- Do both for a powerful shock army theme |
Buff Conscript PPSh's so that they do not, at any distance, deal less damage than a Mosin Nagant. Allow Conscripts to upgrade to PPSh's once T3 has been constructed. Replace PPSh in doctrine with DP Upgrades instead, and maybe throw F1 Grenades in there somewhere too. |
T34 penetration at long range sucks, but I can assure you its more then 9.
