A couple of somewhat minor things:
soviet maxim's activated ability becomes unusable for a little moment while standing still. After testing, it turns out this occurs whenever one of the infantry models in the squad rotates as a part of their idling behaviour (weapon relocates -> all squad models are facing forward -> after some time, a few soldiers turn to look at the HMG)
Also (possibly intentional) activating the ability only requires the unit to remain stationary, the weapon does not have to be set up AND the ability stays activated even if the unit is moved somewhere else after activation.
Not sure if this ever occured to anyone, but I recall the "exit vechicle" hotkey being under the A key instead of the usual E (on grid hotkeys). In the place where it usually was it got replaced by the passive detection (m3 scout car) or healing (m5 halftrack). When I spawn these units in with the cheatcommands mod now, everything is fine. |
When it comes to rapid conscription, I would love for it to instantly reinforce infantry that can be reinforced, or temporarily cut down the reinforcement cost and time, maybe even provide healing for a short time near reinforcement points.
It would, perhaps, make the soviet halftrack more appealing and a valid choice over the t-70 - less shock value for a very stable frontline. With these changes, maybe, just maybe, extended tier 3 usage and its conscript upgrade unlock will finally be viable.

I like the idea of relief infantry providing a single or two squads that can merge, it would perhaps make grens a bit better without the 5-man upgrade. IMO it should have mirrored osttruppen stats (without the mg42 upgrade, panzerfaust and behind cover bonus, maybe ditch combat vet too) and not have the ability to retreat.
Not having retreat should be possible, teamweapons can't do that already and there exists a mod that adds an infantry squad which is unable to retreat (Imperial Japanese Forces, I believe), so it should be an easy fix, the only thing that would need adjusting is ability cost, unit description and perhaps reinforcement time and cost if you want relief infantry to be mostly single-use. |
A good way to use the AT strafe is to use the recon pass first and then try to snipe rocket artillery with the AT strafe. It's not a common tactic, so opponent will likely not react in time, especially if the rocket artillery is close to the edge of the map.
To use it against tanks, you have to somehow block the path of the tank with a vehicle or use TWP with the Pak40, otherwise the strafe simply arrives too slowly. Here's how you block vehicle pathing effectively: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7rPGTaHQDs
I suppose the best way is to use it on stunned tanks then, since it's rare to get an opportunity to block a tank during retreat in a tight corridor. I tried using them on tanks with damaged engines, but to no avail, since they can just drive sideways, out of the ability's range. Maybe there's some decent potential with riegel mines, but I almost never saw them in use.
Also, when I tested this ability in a custom game, it seems like it can cause engine crits and stun tanks. Sometimes it stuns, sometimes it causes engine crit or "loader wounded", sometimes it only deals damage without any crits, is there a pattern to it or just pure randomness? |
Yes exactly. Minsk is like Poltawa basically with the same issues, just the paths are longer.
Imo Minsk would be fixed so easily by swapping the locations of the far VPs and the ammo sectors Should be <5 minute job

Any tips on how to use this commander effectively, especially the AT strafe? The damage is solid but it comes out so slow that it seems like it will only hit the opponent if he's afk. |
Is it really a bad thing that Poltawa has remained unchanged? Is the map ridiculously imba due do 4 houses in the middle or something? I never really found this map to be an issue. |
ą a ä a, I think people will understand German and Polish in game still. Also does the older ALT code not work for you? ALT + 0261
It's not that someone will not understand what I'm saying, the problem is that having to intentionally type "a" instead of "ą" messes with my typing habits and I tend to forget about it and accidentaly erase the entire message. I was hoping that there might be a way to disable it with something like advanced launch options, but it doesn't seem like it.
Also the old alt code doesn't seem to do anything, sadly. |
They can get 3 vickers lmgs from brits |
I dont speak polish at all but is it not possible to just write a normal "a" without destroying the whole meaning of the word?
It is, but it's a lot more frustrating than it may seem. I'm very used to just typing with polish letters and it's very easy to forget that, for this one game, I cannot use this specific combination of keys. And then when I get used to not typing "ą" i have to switch my mindset to start using it again outside of the game. And just to piss me off, pressing alt + a, aside from deleting the entire message, actually writes "ą". I guess you can put it at the very front of a sentence but it's never used at the start of any word, so it's completely useless. |
what
why
I need that combination to type in polish, the "ą" key in some words requires pressing both "alt" AND "A". Is there a way for this combination to not clear chat?
btw it only happens in this game as far as I know and a couple of other ones, I can't find any mention of this keyboard shortcut anywhere |
