But he has not yet explained why the volks with inferior baseline stats vet and weapons are Extremely powerful . your better of using sp's
I will ignore obvious bait in your comment. Please leave personnel attacks at the door, they have no place in the forum. That goes for everyone else as well. The forum is for discussion not who can write the wittiest comment.
Volks have inferior stats, but cost less than everybody else but scripts. They also never pay to unlock abilities, and have 5 levels of vet. What infantry other than they have these advantages? They are stopgap infantry, and with STG's seriously threaten unupgraded Allied infantry now.
I encourage you to show me a game where you are capable of substituting SP's for volks. The reinforce cost, the high initial cost, and the limit DPS at range make them very vulnerable to infantry. They are also 4 man squads and their vet does not give them predominantly bonuses that assist in combat, but they get bonuses that assist in repair or healing at vet 1. |
Volks are extremely powerful right now. Losing them late game is punishment. Squad survival is rewarded. How is a Soviet player supposed to get cons to vet 3 when they get wiped after the 10 minute mark? Meanwhile they feed out vet. I have not found volks vetting too slowly at all. If you miss healing you are free to drop med kits, remember many OKW units (including volks) get healing with vet so you only need to do this for a short period of the game.
Obers are expensive, you need at most 1 squad. In some games you may not even need them. They exist for a specific reason, dealing with elite infantry behind a cheaper infantry unit. Their vet prevents their price from decreasing. Some of their vet levels are insanely good and they have a huge range of abilities. They truly reward excellent play.
Sturms probably have too much on their plate, but the fear of light vehicles eating up OKW without the shrek is at least reasonable to me. Until such time as another solution is found they will need to hold the shrek. Having said that, they can easily reach vet 5 now, and at this point they can function as almost instant repair stations for any tank.
MG34 is fine, plays well, and fills its role. It is a cheap, static, MG capable of controlling blobs and letting volks chew threw them with upgrades. |
But but, guys you wanted easy wins! There they are, why are you complaining? Isn't this why every single allied fanboy cried in the rain? They had to work for their wins. Now you have what you wanted. Enjoy, shut up, and wach the game die. Hahaha.
This is a strawman argument if I ever saw one. Please consider the importance of developing interesting build orders and remember that the people asking for this mortar expected a much different beast.
Grens and the HMG42 need to literally sit in one place to have a chance against RM.
Bad idea.
If they go for a mortar they have 1 less Rifle so the idea is to bring them some power in exchange. If you see an opponent go mortar he will have less capping power and limited ability to leave his mortar unguarded. The USF mortar helps against Ost MG spam no question, that's the point. Diversify your army and see how it goes after the USF mortar gets nerfed.
|
I agree that the USF with this mortar is insane. USF needed a smoke thrower with some light AI, not a better version of the Ost mortar that vets near instantly, has better vet available and in a faction that focuses on a strong early game. |
Mr. Smith I think the indirect buffs to the Centaur have to be acknowledged with the buffs to the Rak as well (which are indirect nerfs to the Centaur). With a longer more deadly AT gun the Centaur has to play back lest it get fausted and destroyed by long range fire. Although I will admit that it was possible to overwhelm it before with a volks blob. |
The feeling of vulnerability is highlighted by the crews desire to hold hands while firing every rocket. No other AT gun suffers from the clumping of crew that Raks have, and this alone may be enough to provide the survivorship it needs. |
Please try to communicate more politely and like a cultured, civilized human being and refrain from calling others rat. That just proves a lack of tolerance and basic cognitive functions inside your little brain.
If it is hard to provide counter arguments about the OP, then you can happily avoid this topic. That screenshot was just an example and not the only thing mentioned in this topic. And it was from a top player who got defeated by 3 maxims and gards. So, as I said, it was just an example.
Anyways, people have spoken and I believe this thread has run its course and could be locked anytime, as it will be probably attracting unnecessary toxicity and dumb replies past this point.
I hope, and I try, to not insult people on this forum. With this post I cannot even tell if you are being serious or not. I made a fairly lengthy post early in this trainwreck which you completely ignored, and then reposted again to try to limit this posts place on the front page by suggesting you do something else, like ask for advice.
Also saying its from a top player, I have to remind you: Top players lose games. The question is whether his opponent was as good as him throughout the game, and without the replay how would we know? As it stands all this screenshot does is allow you to claim lack of balance without providing any real proof.
Don't try to bully me when your understanding about gameplay mechanics appears weak, and your contribution to this discussion is unhelpful at best. |
The unit was added because 3 rifle starts are boring. It also assist USF on urban maps if they don't select Rifle Company so that they can deal with units in buildings more easily. Having said that, I don't think the USF mortar should be very good at dealing damage, it should be about supporting other units with smoke, and maybe even white phosphorus with vet. I like the idea of diversifying USF builds, but I don't want to see them become unstoppable in the early game. |
If he builds 3 stuarts be thankful. They are now overinvested in the captain tier and you can afford to get 2 paks or 1 stug. The advice above about keeping grens together is quite good as well. Never leave a pak alone, that is what he wants. You can leave the gren behind a shot blocker near the pak to ensure you get the faust off when he dives.
Use of tellers would have been a good idea as well, and you should feel free to get shreks as Boar also suggested. That many stuarts means he has no ability to field medium tanks for the forseeable future and you should exploit this. |
Penal Rat Battalion please do not post screen shots of the end game and complain about balance. If you feel balance is unfair please post a replay to the strategists. From the screen shot the only thing I can really tell is you surrendered at the right time, but I cannot asses why you were down so many squads, also your timer says 17 minutes. |
