For ranked matches they are always set to random starting locations which will randomize sides and base location. In other words, nothing has changed guys. It's just showing you where the bases are now. Those number existed in custom games when you selected fixed starting positions. Those numbers never changed. Automatch used to have fixed starting positions off. Now they are on, and allies are always the low numbers, and axis are always the high numbers. So on Langreskya, Allies always spawn north. On Kholodney Ferma, Allies always spawn east. On Semoisky, Allies spawn south-west etc etc. In: Lobby

It was too easy to get enough panzerschreks out early enough for any soviet medium tank to instantly become a non-threat, even when rushed. On a side note; There also are not any tanks out by the time a flame halftrack can hit the field. All you need to do is get BP2. Subtracting starting fuel from the total cost, the total fuel threshold to get a flame halftrack is 135 including having build T1. This is still 5 fuel less than the most rushed out soviet halftrack where the soviet go T1->3 and skips both molotovs and AT nades. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Relic please delete the elephant and the Ost sniper. Please!27 Sep 2014, 15:45 PM Ost snipers are an absolute pain in the *** against USF. All you need to do is make sure you don't get surprised by the M20. Against Soviets, Ost snipers are good against T2 openings. Unlike soviet snipers, Ost snipers can also be supported by Heavy Machine Guns from the same tier. This makes it very hard to rush the Ost sniper with infantry. Elephants still have 100% chance to penetrate nearly Allied armor at every range. The only Allied unit that can deflect the shot is an IS-2; but even then it's a <5% chance and only at max range. The elephant also does very high damage. All USF armor except the Bulldozer sherman dies to 2 hits. All soviet's core tanks and vehicles get either 1 or 2 shotted, their KV heavy tanks die in 3 hits, and the IS tank variants get blown up with 4 hits. Compare that to say, the AT power of a ISU152, and you will see that the Elephant is a MUCH better tank destroyer. In: COH2 Balance

That was probably your window of opportunity as I had to stall out, but t4/t2 is not great at pushing. I'd probably have gone another Kat or two instead of T3 after t4. Or a quick t3 instead of t4. Also are starting positions fixed now since last patch? I have not played lots recently but it seems like they are (e.g. consistently getting langre south when Axis or north whilst allies.) What did you need that JP4 for? You could have saved yourself 145 fuel and gotten the KT that much earlier. SU76 and SU85 do absolutely nothing to infantry with their regular fire and you are not going to catch a katyusha with a JP4. Did you forget about my doctrines and though there were T34/85s coming or something? I'd actually dare say that you could have skipped the JP4 and the AT guns and just got 3 more volks and push me of the map with overwhelming infantry and a few panzerschreks. I actually made a second katyusha at one point, but I cancelled it because it would have cost me too much supply against the inevitable KT, which admittedly came later than I expected. And I'm not sure about the starting points. I saw cruzz say that they were fixed, and I have noticed myself spawning on the same sides but I have not played enough to draw a conclusion. In: Replays
