I was thinking like with light tanks with tank riders- the soviets used enormous numbers of them. More than half of their tanks were light in 1941-1942, and by Kursk 1943 it was down to 1/3.
Motor infantry squads instead of conscripts.
A lot of T-60, T-70 with one motor squad riding on top of them. T-34s (both types) with tank riders. Lend Lease Shermans..
76mm divisional field guns...used as light artillery...
Dream on.............. |

I would have liked to see:
Balanced Ostheer and Soviet with more nondoc units
Soviet Guards (improved vcoh Soviet version of PE) and Panzer Elite (strong defense, higher quality/fewer units, heavily armed, expensive, a bit like the British but not quite) |
Those aren't pershings, they are Sherman 76's. They are the later models of the Sherman. |

yeah, the puma/stug spam + stuH if Blitz is used. The Sherman 75's shots just bounce off the stugs frontal armor so sticky bombs need to be used. It also bounces off the puma's front more than I expected..

As far as the m18 goes, I find that it tends to glitch! I've lost m18s when they got stuck somewhere in the map. Also, they aren't very responsive to orders sometimes and move strangely. The m10 doesn't glitch like this.
So overall, I have had better luck with using M10 Tank destroyer, infantry company munitions artillery strike, and Bar rifleman + mortar than Shermans. More armor > less armor even though the Sherman is a better infantry killer than 1.5 M10s.
I also buy 1 Sherman Crocodile if I can afford it.
I hoard the munitions of the m18/sherman's turret top gunner for the artillery strikes. |
I agree. I would have preferred if ram was a doctrinal ability, and not needed or used in every match...I said this in the past: just use the Vcoh dynamic with the medium tanks.
I've been playing vcoh recently and the medium tanks of 2 of the factions are comparable :
Cromwell, Sherman 75
fuel cost: 70, 90.
The Panzer IV and the Sherman 76 are comparable, with the Sherman being the more expensive of the two.
fuel cost: 80+ T4 teching, 90 + sherman 76 universal upgrade.
there are little things that justify the price differences but they aren't big, critical issues. |
^ I never liked ram.
in Vcoh, the British cromwell tank had a 'flank speed' which is basically blitzkrieg in coh2.
If the weak soviet tanks are supposed to 'flank' the strong german ones, then why are the Germans the ones that have the 'flank speed'....heh.

I think a big nerf to the AI of the Is-2 and ISU (always really strong) would make them less 'one shot squad wipe' vehicles. Then buff AT and/or armor.
Essentially, this is going back to the more symmetrical armor- ISU becoming more like the elefant but not quite, and the IS-2 becoming more like the Tiger but not quite. |
The problem with ISU-152 is the fact that it's too expensive and too vulnerable to a flank by panzers in maps like Semosky. It cannot escape ambushes like the panzers can (smoke, blitz...)
|
If the IS-2 was buffed AT and nerfed AI, it would become a slightly stronger version of the tiger rather than the infantry killer it currently is... |
It's been 7 months plus already and only now has this has been considered? Just saying; I noticed this problem the first day I owned the game.
They did buff the T-34s and the others but the most important AFV, the T-34, was always too weak vs. heavy AFV. |
