Good idea for Victory Points. I came up with a similar idea, but i did not put it into practice, because of fuel/ammo caches.
I don't think the actual point would have to be inside the building, but only the "Capture Area" would need to be painted where the buildings are. This would leave the point to be constructed on. |
Do you have access to another network, that you can upload with? It sounds like a network issue. |
I think I found it out
I hit 'use mud' somewhere and now it looks like I can paint mud with the heightmap editor (it looks like snow)
Am I painting mud now? Or snow?
When selecting Mud, you must choose the texture to use on the mud, AND the scale of those textures, default is 0, I set to 1. This is done in terrain properties Atmosphere Properties. If you don't set these up, the mud is white by default.
EDIT: Thanks for the correction, IronMedic

Hi!
I've created a 2v2 and everything works just fine... except for the AI.
The AI only spawns basic infantry units from the HQ and then go out to capture points and so forth as a AI should.
But it will not build any structures for some reason.
The map works just fine when I play with my friends, we are all able to build structures and wage armies at one another.
I've tried to fix the isue myself and have googled the problem several times but no solution has ever been found.
Please someone help me for the love of map-making.
Thanks in advance.
If no one else has chimed in, I can help you later today after work. It sounds like maybe the wrong objects are being used, for starting territory, but I don't think you would be able to build their either, if that was the case. You should look at a stock map, and double check to make sure all the objects are correct, and assigned to the correct players. |
There should be only 1 quality of Munitions and Fuel.

COH1 had different levels of them, but not COH2. You can set the collection rate using a SCAR script. If you imported it as a COH1 map, you will need to redo them with COH2 objects.

it happens when you change tool when editing a spline and won't work when you reselect the spline tool, if you press the space-bar it will stop editing the spline the tool is stuck on.
THIS ^
hit spacebar.
And if your camera ever gets stuck panning, press the arrow key in the direction your stuck moving. Unrelated, but just as frustrating. |
From the links you sent me in steam, it seems as though you made the low resolution version (320x320) and then rescaled to 768x768. You should create the larger resolution first, and then scale down to 360x360 (instead of 320x320). Be sure to set the options file to 360x360 as well. If you haven't gotten it straightened out by the time I get off work, and I have time, I'll try to get you setup correctly.
EDIT: Meliorare found the problem, by re-doing the "Save overhead map", checking the option: "Playable area only", yesterday.

I made this custom tactical map using GIMP and OnkelSam's tutorials, but the map preview isn't lined up correctly, while the minimap is correct. I used to have the same problem with the tactical map until I changed the minimap size from 768x768 to 320x320, my map's playable area size. The Map Making contest submissions are due in about 2 days, I could really use some help!
I believe there is a file, in your folder with the SGB file, that has resolution for the tactical map. (Mapname.options or something like that). I dont think the file size has anything to do with the playable area, but rather it should be static file sizes. I'm at work right now, but I can clarify later, if no one else has jumped in. |
