Mhm. The problem with IS is... they aren't stated as mainline infantry. They are stated as weak elites. 8 pop cap, great AI, no AT to speak of.
No affordable MG counter, no soft LV counters, no shock artillery all make UKF problematic and crutchy.
The key problem is... all the clear ways to rebuild UKF results in an OST clone. And other ways are massively complicated. |
The point is, the complaints about needing to hold a commander to counter the B-4 is the same the leFH generates. That's why many of the highest picked Allied commanders in big team all have consistent anti-howitzer abilities. Because they were mandatory. Planning around howis is now mandatory for Axis as well, and that's OK. The B-4 might need to be toned down, but forcing both factions to factor in Howis in commander picks is good. Sitting under uncontested leFH shelling is back breaking, especially with its HUGE 80 damage radius and large number of shells.
The B-4 and ML/20 now do that without easy Counter Battery to stop it.
Lets give it at least a week for the meta to shift favoring some anti-Howi call-ins and recon. The commanders were balanced already accordingly. Jaeger Armor even comes with Recon. |
I guess it stayed. |
Sounds like playing vs lefh without call-ins. Get call-ins. A swath of good commanders still have some form of snipe, Railroad, Frag Bombs, 152mm barrage.
OKW has a nondoc recon plane, OST has a variety of commanders with Recon. |
Shu mines are the German equivalent to the normal soviet mine. Do you mean the light antipersonnel mines?
Yep, those. |
ML/20 wont fire creeping smoke barrage if any of the shells are outside of ML/20 range. Creeping barrages generally fire as long as the shell hitting the center is valid. |
It better coordinates the faction and decreases PPSH as commander filler. Infantry Fortifications is a really rare bonus. They also fixed the tool tip, so it actually has an identity. Push with guards, howis, and heavy tanks, then fall back to defenses.
Infantry fortifications is Tank Traps, bunkers, and Soviet Shu mines. Pretty gnarly stuff. Looks like fun for a more passive play style. |
Is the Rifle Company M3 halftrack supposed to have a pintling MG? As it current has the visual but does not pintle. |
Ill come out and say it. I want more MGs on the Churchill. |
They did listen to feedback. My feedback best i can tell. They didnt have good options. B-4 was almost homogenized into another ML/20, and then a weapon to surpass Metal Gear. I suggested 4 options, stay AT meme howi, covert to Pak43, make bigger ML/20, or.... add suppression while still hitting hard. They went for suppression, as its the only arty besides werfer that does that, giving it a unique vibe. It no longer lottos your P4s to death. Last night I hit the same Tiger 3 times with a B4, so it spent over half the game in repairs. Now it softens fortified positions before the big push, LITERALLY its IRL job.
Its so pretty. |
