Relic, give us unrealized content for CoH 2: commanders, units, skins, etc. Surely you have it. I would like to see at least a spark of life for the Company of Heroes series while you torture the stillborn corpse of CoH3 in an attempt to make it live. If these attempts really exist, with which I am not sure after the dismissal of 120 employees of the company, despite the fact that CoH3 is positioned as a live service, and for the performance of such a model there are many staff members or even several studios. |
It finally looks though that this was the crash that Relic needed. The reviewing priorities are super vague, but at least there's the community maps and replay function on the list. I hope it's not going to be too late for CoH3, but we'll see.
You sir, made me laugh.
PS: Your meme is not working...
I don't believe in this roadmap. Lately, I've seen a lot of failed or dead games trying to be revived with the promise of a roadmap. As a result, they were simply closed or given minimal content. So far, I see only another statements without evidence. |
I have drawing of a content and patches!!!

We will make the CoH2 single player campaign historical
Sorry for writing that off topic stuff but Russians still seem to ignore the fact that the Red Army was more brutal to it's own soldiers than any other army in WW2. It was bad in CoH2's campaign that the Red Army were ONLY shown in a negative way while Western Allies were the big heroes in CoH although the never had to fight against prime Wehrmacht like the Red Army.
BUt that does not mean that the Red Army was flawless, far from it. And Russians did not seem to accept that the SU had a lot of dirt on their fingers - because the WW2 seem still to start in 1941 (Great Patriotic WAr) for the SU although the made pact with Hitler in 1939, killed ten of thousands of the polish elite, invaded Finland and the BAtlic states. Before the SU was the victim of the german war of annihilation it was an aggressor. And millions of brave soviet soliders could have survived the war without the bad leadership.
I'm not going to debate with you about politics and how the Allies abandoned Czechoslovakia and the USSR at that time offered help. Poland invaded Czechoslovakia together with Germany and threatened war in case of any help to Czechoslovakia from the USSR. About how the USSR offered France and Britain a triple alliance that could change history twice. And blah blah blah and all that
The CoH2 company is propaganda, propaganda that the soldiers were cowards, they did not want to fight, but the evil Soviets forced them out of fear of being shot and order 227. And reinforcing their propaganda with false quotes from real generals who allegedly - we fought because of order 227 (Chuikov, who was supporters of order 227 and a tough commander), I am a patriot but I made a mistake and the government drove people into a meat grinder (Malinovsky about his stay at the front of the First World War). Which again, I repeat, is a criminal offense - Defamation. |
- We will dedicate the second part of the game entirely to the Eastern Front - lie
- We will make the CoH2 single player campaign historical - lie
- We will never add M26 Pershing to CoH2 - lie
- Historicity is important to us in CoH3 - Black Prince
This is just what I remembered in a minute, there must have been other examples. But in general, I perfectly see the price of Relic's words. |
Not only was he laid off, he was banished to Russia
Then I'll meet him here. |
While these news are kinda sad and definitely point to CoH3 not performing as expected, let's not pretend like this means that CoH3 is doomed for sure... not even close if you ask me.
We have absolutely no clue who got fired here, they could be (and probably are) people who -as shitty as it sounds- are not deemed essential anymore for the future development of the game.. such as Campaign mission designers or certain artists.... or people who are not even in the CoH3 team to begin with.
Even when putting the performance of CoH3 and this rough economic situation aside, Relic is not working on any projects right now apart from CoH3, at least not that we know of. They had over 300 employees prior to this move.... and I really doubt you need that big of a staff to support a post-launch game. So it's absolutely no surprise that they laid off employees, the total number is just a bit surprisingly high now. It's not unusual at all that the employee number of game development companies goes significantly up and down as time passes and games getting launched. No matter if it's Relic or Rockstar Games or any other studio
People really need to stop jumping to worst-case scenario conclusions all the time... the future of CoH3 might as well be very positive despite this news for all we know. Relic still has around 200 employees left
One of the key things you're missing is that the game is marketed as a "Live Service". In order for a live service to work, you need constant and frequent content. As you can see from the experience of many failed live service games, one studio is not enough for a live service. And then the reduction of the staff of the studio.
We all know perfectly well what will happen to most of the service's games - they are stillborn or receive just the bare minimum content, even less than just DLC. To maintain a live service sometimes you need two or three studios. |
And how much there was talk about a live server and many years of support. It made no sense to believe Relic already with CoH2. And Sega, including, who, after justified criticism of the CoH2 campaign, they promised to fix everything and just began to remain silent and I think they just scored on supporting CoH2. Instead of making a really interesting DLC for the Soviets with a good single player campaign and a new Soviet faction. |
He's dead Jim.
Although it wasn't surprising.

Well... um. This gives me mixed feelings. Already at the end of CoH2, many of my friends and acquaintances from CoH2 with whom I talked often said that the game had turned into a boring game (For me, the first couple of years were the best in CoH2, and although there was often insane imbalance, it was an incredibly fun game in which situations like 1-0 victory points were very common, often tournament balance did not equal fun). Because some dudes make a game for themselves to play in tournaments. CoH3 is the apogee of this concept - multiplayer is extremely boring. I don't even have a couple of minutes of watching the game, I'm just dying of boredom. The game should be created for players and not for tournament players. |
