Have you seen Enemy at the gates?
Yes, and read the real memoirs of Zaitsev. So I really understand how bad this movie is. |
It was the exact same Hollywood cliche war mythology and stereotypes.
I would not call for example A Bridge Too Far to cliché films, he described the events quite well, but a little with anguish and anti-war. But the film as a whole is pretty accurate. |
Meanwhile, people were in love in CoH1 campaign, because it was complete lousy Saving Private Rayan cliche mythical nonsense.
Whatever they will do in CoH3 campaign, it'll be fine, monke will throw poop and everyone else will just play and enjoy it.
CoH 1 was based on the cult films people love: Saving Private Ryan, Band of Brothers, A Bridge Too Far. I don’t know what drove the development of CoX2 as a single-player campaign: bias, lack of competence, poor funding (due to the imminent bankruptcy of THQ). But devastating criticism scared away the creators and they decided to play neutral boring single-player campaigns: Ardennes Assailt and now. This is not why we love the Company of heroes a single player campaign, but for the emotions, for the plot, for the excellent cut scenes. There are some people who don't like the campaign from the screamish battles - it's boring. |
wow that got removed?
one worry is those 70 community members advising relic, how many are 1v1 players we know from here?
so many of them removed all the bright ideas in name of THEIR competitive prize money desires...
abandoned needs to come back for mp
A switch is enough to play a competitive game or play a regular game. On|off abandoned tanks, etc. |
I noticed that the paratroopers cannot crash when parachuting. I understand why they did it, but for me such things make the game more insipid. |
True, but I don't against seeing paper tanks, as long as they are properly balanced. Black Prince was designed in WWII, so IMO, it is part of WWII.
Unfortunately not, I really wanted to see the T-44 on the battlefield, because it was a magnificent and revolutionary tank for that time that could protect against 88 guns. But no, they were only produced in hundreds of pieces. |
And you cant call any phototype not a phototype because they saw very limited action in the front.
This is a game, after all, not a historical documentary. If you would rather see a true reflection of history, made the Tiger have a 70% chance to have a sudden engine break down then.
Also, make ISU-152 able to one-shot everything.
You are confusing warm with soft. Company of Heroes is a true historical game? No, this is a game based on WWII, was the Black Prince part of WWII? Not. There were no units in the game that did not participate in the war. If Company of Heroes were World of Tanks, you will get a ton of paper tanks. If you want the Black Prince in the game, please take Operation Unthinkable, it will be everything that has already happened in the war and a ton of all sorts of delicious tanks: ARL-44, BP, Centurion, IS-3, T-44, ZSU-37, etc. And everyone will be happy. |
no offence, but please provide proofs of that. AFAIK Italy campaign ended with complete withdrawal of German forces in October 1943, while first Chaffee tanks were shipped a year later. Yes it is a real tank, but still it does not fit particular timeframe, which I'm completely OK with that.
Personally I'd rather see Comet then Black Prince, but if Relic thinks that it fits the faction, then be it.

EFA and UKF engineers don't build base structures and they are as important as ever.
These mines and wires won't build/clear themselves.
USA is the second echelon, for me personally one of the most unnecessary units. They do not have good mines (and this is one of the important things that I need), the tank crew can fix themselves. Also, considering that there are very few people in the random who mine everything around like me. So there is no need to mine detector, in a proper majority. |
