All though I agree with the OP that the teching cost for the soviet side seems rather expensive, I don't recommend giving the soviets a tech upgrading system similar to the germans. Simply because I think it would be boring if the two sides become to much alike.
IMO the changes should be made on the german side instead. Their building and teching cost is ridiculously cheap for the number of units it opens up.
This is all a design choice ofc and it has a blance of its own.
But there would be more of a cliff-hanger if the german side was also forced to make a strategic choice between T1 and T2 and couldn't just go both anyhow. |
Well, IMO conscripts - and everything on the soviet side for that matter - takes a lot more Work than the grens and the german faction in general.
That said, I do actually prefer the soviet side. The german faction is a bit boring with its HMG+Gren => 221 => PzIV => Panther.
There's not a real challenge if you just keep at max range with your stuff all the time. |
Arranged teams would be moot unless we get a general lobby. |
It's not quite correct IMO that you always get 4v4 if you check all game modes.
In my experience it more frequently ends up in 3v3, all though to some of you that might be same-same.
The main problem with the long waits are quite simple, though: Next to everyone and his granma wants to play german.
There was a small redistribution of players to the soviets for a while after the last patch.
But now it's back to the usual between 75 and 66% germans searching.
I can't say I think the game is unbalanced, but IMO the german side is much easier to play, so I can't blame the majority for preferring the german faction.
The downside is just that it creates a bottleneck for games. |
Because I'm too lazy to add up 4 teams numbers for such an unimportant detail. That, and why not?
How about: Because there are a million more important things the developer team should spend their time on? |
But how would you display where a sniper has LOS or not?
It sort of requires a whole new set of interface and display. I doubt they'd do that by now. There's no money in it. |
SU85 is nowhere near a clean counter to Panthers. Let's not point the discussion away.
However, I think it's been mentioned, but since the speed of the Panther is the problem, mines are the answer.
Well, in combo with AT ofc, but if a unit excels in speed, ofc. you counter should be to cut its speed!
I'm painfully aware that Panthers can be very hard to stop, but I'm not sure I'm buying the idea that there needs to be like ONE hard counter for it.
IMO it's OK that some units to take a combo of meassures to be countered. At least if it's a high tier unit as the Panther (and not such as the previous version of the HMG42) |
shocks will won 1v1 against pgren but will lose 2v2 with pgren sometimes(who move who lose)
Wait a sec...I usually use shocks to run into enemy infantry and create havoc. Do the shocks have weapons that require them to stand still (as lmg for grens)? |
I'd like to see a small indicator on the cursor perhaps if you have a unit selected and mouse over an enemy unit that the selected unit doesn't have LOS on.
Good idea. Or simply something in the cone display of MGs and AT that show what parts are in and out of LOS/true sight. |
I've never had a problem with ostruppen. This is because if I see even one I go shock army.
ppsh and shock troopers cut through them like butter.
Heavy mortars make sure they can't stay still making them completely useless and artillery will do the same even better. Not to mention destroying all those trenches.
If there is such a thing as a counter doctrine, this is it.
The problem with that advice is, that all those tools only arrive later. The problem with the osties seems to be in the very early game.
And THERE you have barely any counters. |
