a panther hit 2 mines, deflected 3 nades, deflected 4 zis shots, and didnt get finished off by an su85... either he has the worst luck imaginable, has horrible micro, or this story is exaggerated. the math doesnt even make sense for the panther getting vet 2 off 1 fight like that. sorry, i just dont believe it. there has to be more to this story.
even for the panther to escape at 50% hp after getting hit with all of that, its only possible if it had vet 2 to begin with. the story just doesnt add up. not to mention the fact that a panther takes a long time to decrew a zis 2 times.
even assuming this story is accurate, an engine damaged panther charging at a zis and su85 should end with a dead panther. back your su85 up. end of story.
Sorry wooof, but I just had a game where I was trying to finish of SU85 with about 0% health and damaged engine. Going after it with panther and tried to cut it of with squad of PG's.
Missed it about 4 times while it hit me every return shot, Panther dead.
And my squad of PG's missed Su85 with their firs schrecks, and of course Mortar round landed right in the middle of them, wiping entire squad out.
This sort of shit happens all the time in games. |
Again, the biggest problem isn't that they're getting through MG fire from the front. The problem is basically they're running up, getting suppressed within grenade of molotov range, and throwing before being pinned.
That may be somewhat intentional.
I think that number of times the unit can get through MG42 fire and land Molotov on it, about equals number of times molotov doesn't do shit to MG42.
If RNG God likes you in one game, you forget it fast and attribute success entirely to yourself. If the RNG God has a pick on you, than its just ridiculously hard to play and everyone remembers that bit, frustrating.....
I think we all do it |
Is it too much to expect from MG42 to stop one(!), conscript(!) unit charging frontally, from throwing a molotov and forcing MG to retreat? Is it right from design perspective to have a blob of 3-4 closely bunched-up units charge a properly faced MG42 to point blank range without getting even suppressed?
If you speak about "mindset" - what mindset can one have to justify such situations?
That is absolutely right. It shouldn't happen.
And it doesn't happen. I think you might be imagining things while in the angry state of mind.
I have never had conscript squad come head on and throw molotov on my MG42 without getting suppressed and unable to throw molotov.
Nor did I ever managed to walk up frontally towards mg42 with cons.
I can use line of sight to come as close as I get, and then Oorah my way on the side. BUT ONLY if cons will be fired upon for short burst and then are out of fire arc.
Having 5 con units swarm your mg42? Are you being funny? Did you maybe want some of the models to build 88 flak cannon as well, so you don't have to worry about those annoying vehicles?
|
Love the idea, not sure how the balance will work out. With new units and commanders all the time.
We shall see tho. Hopefully, Relic will make few commanders similar to yours for DLC. Maybe even exactly the same |
The problem with the MG is that its useless by itself.
/end d*ck swinging competition and resume constructive criticism about the game.
As someone said, even if You were God of VCOH, saying stupid shit like that, is still stupid.
Mg42 is support weapon, and it shouldn't be used by itself. And walking up to Mg42 frontally and throwing molotov is just a lie (or once of bug)
If you are complaining about having one con unit draw fire while the other closes in on unsupported MG42. Please
I think the MG42 was WAY over nerfed. I think the arch fix was fine, but the suppression the MG42 causes is way too nerfed. Squads running through red cover should be pinned by the second burst at the latest.
that sounds like reasonable balance discussion. That can be reasonably discussed |
|
Right The overuse of rng criticals and the decreased suppression make it pretty easy to just walk up to an mg and throw a molotov - poof, gone.
I have to agree here.
This sort of thing pissed me off so much, that i had to resort to setting my MG42 to face those stupid conscripts. And WTF is this shit from having to move from molotov fire? It is cold, and it should only warm up models. Now I have to support useless MG with grens so it can't get flanked. Its just stupid |
Hi there,
I´m experiencing serious problems with the Elefant every round. The times it has cost me the game are way more than those times it actually proofed useful. I´m by far no noob and know how to use it: A long range, rather immobile, second line, tank-sniper that has to be supported. Yet, even when using it this way it has seldom payed off. Usually it ends up - even after intense fighting - with a low kill count of which most are lucky infantry snipes.
That's because no one, unless they are suffering from heat stroke, will come near that thing with armor units.
It seems you are using it defensively, try using it offensively. It's a bully unit, If you play as Soviet you wanna stay away from it. It will cause massive damage to your armor force even to attempt to engage it, let alone kill the damn thing. Inf can't do shit to it, and even if it has damaged engine, you still have to take huge losses to attempt to kill it (providing it is supported)
Its a bit like a bear coming to take carcass from wolves
Will it pay of in 1v1? its a late unit and good players will try to avoid it. Run the VP down. Not as effective as is in 2v2 and up |
I don't know if these additions is possible, but I think it would be cool to:
1. Be able to see the date a player last played a match. This way you can get an idea how active players are.
2. Get a diagram of the activity of a player, like hours played / day
3. maybe change the W/L-percantage to 88.5% instead of .885% (because that is ratio, not percentage)
4. position of most played games
5. It should be able to enable search player on their in-game name at least in the top 200
6. Sort the ladder on wins/losses/%/total/streak/drops/disputes
That's what I can think of now
Are you normal? One day you gonna find girlfriend and you will hate people who tag you on facebook. Last thing I want to have, is for my girlfriend to sit down to order pizza and see how much time I spent playing COH2 (Yes, I lie)
Other than that I think its good idea |
I would guess its main usability would be in 3v3+ games. 1 Player making FHQ won't hurt the team that much, but it helps others.
My teamate made one in 2v2, he was noobish, but it really helped me keep up the Con pressure. As I didn't need to retreat nor make healing station @ HQ
I am not sure how would, building one, turn out in 1v1 vs someone decent.... |
